YOUR FAITH AND THE WILL OF GOD

YOUR FAITH AND THE WILL OF GOD

Text: Isaiah 55:9-11
Memory text:
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

After the demise of a parent, every family member remains in the dark about what belongs to them, since the will had not yet been read. Everyone may be assuming but no one can confidently claim anything. Once the will is read, each one will know what belongs to him or her and can apply all legitimate measures to claim it. In the same way, the Word of God is His revealed will. Once you know His promises, your faith can claim them with confidence.
Unlike wishful thinking or optimism, true faith needs something solid to hold on to. It is built on what God has already said. The unchanging Word of God is the anchor of faith and without it, faith can drift into wishful thinking or collapse under pressure. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” ‭‭(Matt‬ ‭24‬:‭35‬).
As an anchor digs deep into the seabed and holds the ship steady, so our faith is anchored on the Word in the midst of the storms of life. If faith anchors itself to feelings or circumstances, it drifts. If it anchors to the Word, it stands firm, doesn’t shift or sink. When the enemy threatens you with fear, anchor your faith in, “Fear not, for I am with you…’” ‭‭(Isa‬ ‭41‬:‭10‬). When situations look impossible, anchor your faith in “With God all things are possible” (Matt 19:26). Is your family under attack? Anchor your faith in, “I will contend with those who contender with you and I will save your children” (Isa 49:25).
Faith begins where the will of God is known. You cannot believe beyond your knowledge of God’s will. Where God’s will is revealed, faith finds its foundation. His promises reveal His will. Until you know it is God’s will, you cannot claim it by faith. The Word of God is the birthplace of faith. “No one can have faith without hearing the message about Christ.” (Rom 10:17 CEV).
Faith doesn’t start with your desire but with knowing God’s desire. You need to know that God wants to defend you before you make a passionate demand for God’s defense. You need to know that it is God’s will to heal you to be able to demand your healing. Revelation fuels faith. According to our memory text, the knowledge of His will fuels confidence.
Friends, search the scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to give you a revelation of God’s will. Only the faith which is anchored on the Word will stand the test of time.

Prayer points
1. Father, open my eyes to see and understand Your will in every area and let the Holy Spirit show me what belongs to me, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, let my faith be anchored on Your unchanging Word, not on feelings or opinions; and cause my faith to overcome in all trials, in Jesus’ name.

Declarations
1. My faith is rooted in the Word, which is the revealed will of God, not in my feelings or circumstances. The Word is the foundation of my faith.
2. I walk in confidence and unshaken faith, knowing my prayers are answered because they align with His will. I believe and receive everything God has willed for me in Christ Jesus.
