Text: Genesis 12:1-3
Memory verse:
“For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.”
‭‭(Rom‬ans 4‬:‭13‬).

The seven fold blessing pronounced upon Abraham can be simplified thus – a great inheritance, a great posterity, a great name, a great blessing, a great defence, a great alliance, and a great influence.
Abraham was truly blessed in all things. “Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” (Gen‬ ‭24‬:‭1‬).
Some people think Abraham’s blessing was only spiritual blessing. No, for there was no way Abraham could have been a blessing to others if he himself wasn’t blessed (Gen 24‬:‭35‬). The blessing of Abraham came before the curse of the law. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law to take us back to the blessing of Abraham (Gal 3:13). Christ became a curse for us on the cross so we can enjoy the blessing of Abraham.
“And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭(Gal‬ ‭3‬:‭29‬). If you belong to Christ, that is, if you have accepted His atoning sacrifice for your sins, then you are an heir of Abraham according to the promise. Being an heir speaks of an inheritance you don’t work for and by the virtue of whose child you are.
Now, what is “the promise” that belongs to Abraham’s descendants? It is the promise to be the heir of the world. “For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.”
‭‭(Rom‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬). The word, “heir of the world” in Greek means, heir of “the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments, riches, advantages, pleasures.” You are an heir to all these.
Friends, through faith, you are an heir of the world—its goods, its endowments, its riches, its advantages, and its pleasures. Hallelujah!

1. Father, thank You for the privilege to share in the blessing of Abraham through Christ.
2. I invoke the blessing of wealth, health, protection and all-round blessing of Abraham in Jesus name.
