ACCEPTABLE SERVICE 5

ACCEPTABLE SERVICE 5

Text: Exodus 28:1-4
Memory verse:
”But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Some believers have a wrong mindset about God’s work. They believe that God is not bothered about excellence as long as His work is done. What an ignorance!
For example, those who never go late to their workplaces throw away their sense of time when it is about the church.
God expects the best from us. There must be a touch of excellence in all our services to God. You shouldn’t serve with shabby and rough outlook. That doesn’t represent our God (Exo 28:2; Matt 22:11). Wherever you are serving in the church, God expects you to come to Him neatly and smartly. You don’t have to be covetous or live beyond your means. Your outlook is not about the cost but your diligence. Your outlook should reflect the glory and beauty of God, like Aaron’s garment.
Diligence is not only about being hardworking but also about being careful, paying attention to details, and being constant and persistent. It is doing things thoroughly and excellently, dotting the ‘is’ and crossing the ‘ts’. God wants us to serve Him with diligence. ”…He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.“ ‭‭(Heb‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬).
This principle should guide whatever service you render in the name of the Lord, be it at home, workplace, or at church. Whatever your hands find doing, do it with all your might (Ecc 9:10)
Don’t do the work of God carelessly and casually. Don’t leave any stone unturned. Aim at giving God the best. If you are cleaning, clean well, if you are arranging and preparing the church for a meeting, come early, clean the chairs, the altar, and the pulpit. If you are serving in the technical team, test all the equipment a day before the service day. As a security person, you should be around to check the environment and position yourself before others arrive. People with a lazy, do-nothing, “take-it-easy” or “do it anyhow” attitude will never be greatly rewarded by the Lord.
“God shines from Zion, the city perfect in its beauty.” (Psa 50:2). Zion is not only beautiful but perfect in beauty! God manifests Himself when you serve Him with excellence.
Friends, whatever service you are rendering, do it diligently if you desire to receive a reward.
