ACCEPTABLE SERVICE 6

ACCEPTABLE SERVICE 6

Text: 2 Kings 12:9-16
Memory verse:
”And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward,“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is known by His faithfulness. He is reliable, dependable, constant, and trustworthy. Remove faithfulness from Him, and He becomes mere man.
God also expects His children, who serve Him to be faithful. Who will want to commit any important thing into the hand of an unfaithful worker? When an unfaithful worker tells you something, you will still want to go further to cross-check! No one will sleep with his eyes closed, leaving his treasure in the custody of an unfaithful worker.
According to our text today, King Joash embarked on the project of repairing the temple during his reign. They counted the offerings that were brought by the people and thereafter delivered it to the temple repair managers who paid all the construction workers and artisans. A profound comment was made concerning the managers in 2 Kings 12:15.
“No accounting of this money was required from the construction supervisors, because they were honest and trustworthy men” (NLT). The NKJV says, “for they dealt faithfully.“
Did you notice that? Joash and the priests didn’t need to run after them to ensure that they complied with what they were instructed to do or to check on them to ensure that they didn’t misappropriate the money. They had so much confidence in them, and they were not disappointed. They were honest and trustworthy, men of integrity indeed! They were found faithful in their service.
Likewise, Moses was faithful as a servant over God’s inheritance (Heb 3:5).
This is one key quality that God requires in every church worker or anyone serving in one capacity or the other. “And since our first duty is to be faithful to the one we work for” (1 Cor 4:2 CEV).
Friends, does your supervisor, be it in church or in other places, run after you to do your assignment? Can you be entrusted with your association’s money? Can you be trusted to care for some little ones, opposite sex or assets? May you be found faithful in all your services, be at home, at work and in church, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer points
1. Father, please help me to be honest, trustworthy, and dependable in all my services, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, open my eyes to any trait of unfaithfulness in me and purge me of it in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. If God’s faithfulness stands Him out, my faithfulness in service will also stand me out in life.
2. Everyone called to God’s service is required to be faithful, so I make faithfulness my life pursuit.
