AN ORDINARY SHOUT?

AN ORDINARY SHOUT?

Text: 1 Corinthians 1:18-29
Memory verse:
”But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;“
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ ‭NKJV

The shout of faith is so powerful that it causes God to descend and perform wonders in the midst of His people, like He will do at the rapture (1Thes 4:16). The wonders of the resurrection of the dead and the lifting of both the resurrected and the living into the air will be preceded by the descending of the Lord in a commanding shout.
Also, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead through which God wroth His great power over satan, destroyed satan’s power of death, ascended to the heights and took many captives with Him were accompanied by a mighty shout. He demonstrated His overwhelming victory over Satan by a mighty shout. This is what the psalmist meant here, ”God has ascended with a mighty shout. The Lord has ascended with trumpets blaring.“ ‭‭(Psa‬ ‭47‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬). You see, the two most powerful and victorious events in the scriptures are accompanied by a great shout.
Sometimes, I hear people calling a joyful shout in the church an ordinary shout. Some even look at it as being childish or as a way to just excite the congregation. People with such attitude don’t respond to a call to shout, or they just barely mutter a word! What an ignorance!
It’s well known that God has always used the foolish things of this world to confound the wisdom of the wise.
”Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. He chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.“
(‭‭1 Cor‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬).
Who will ever imagine that, what others will call ‘an ordinary shout of overzealous people’ would bring down the mighty wall of Jericho? The so called, ‘ordinary shouts’ made a way where there was no way (Jos 6:1, 20). The shouts of faith always pull down barriers and make a way where there seems to be no way (Isa 43:19).
I have seen God wroth mighty wonders in our various meetings when the people began to shout. I have seen the power of God suddenly descending to heal, to deliver and to perform mighty miracles.
Friends, don’t ever consider the shouts of faith in His presence mere shouts. Don’t also be passive when the Spirit is moving or when an instruction to shout is given. May you not miss your hour of visitation, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer points
1. Father, please, deliver me from the tendency to be overfamiliar with Your moves and to consider Your ways as ‘ordinary’, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, please, let me never miss my hour of visitation in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. I will never consider the shout of faith in His presence an ordinary shout.
2. When I make a joyful shout of faith, God descends with His mighty power to perform wonders in my life.
