ANGRY WITH GOD? 3

ANGRY WITH GOD? 3

Text: Matthew 12:43-45
Memory verse:
“But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.” (‭‭1 Sam‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

God didn’t create man to exist in a vacuum. Vacuum is the empty space in which there are no matter particles present. This means your heart is not created to be truly empty. In my basic science class, I learnt that the empty bottle is not empty in actual sense. Although, it may be empty of liquids but filled with air. As soon as the bottle is filled with liquid, the gas is expelled and vice versa.
That is the way it also happens in the spiritual. The heart of man can not exist in a vacuum. It is either occupied by the Spirit of God or demonic spirits, for both cannot coexist. The Spirit of God is light, and the spirit of the devil, that is, demonic spirit, is darkness. 2 Corinthians 6:14 (GNT) says “…. How can light and darkness live together?”
The implication of getting angry with God is that it pitches you against God as an enemy. As an enemy of God, you are in danger of being taken over by demonic spirits and losing the spirit of God. That was what happened to Saul. “But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.” (‭‭1 Sam‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬). This phrase, ‘an evil spirit from the LORD’ doesn’t mean that God sent an evil spirit to him. Rather, it means God permitted an evil spirit to enter into him. God is not the originator of evil. The point is that, as soon as the Spirit of God left Saul, an evil spirit came in because a vacuum could not be left in his heart.
Our Lord Jesus also illustrated this in our text today. The unclean spirit had an opportunity to return to the house it was expelled from because the house was left unoccupied. Leaving it at this state was to leave a vacuum that is against a spiritual law. “Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it arrives, it finds the place unoccupied, swept, and put in order” (Matt 12:44 AMP).
Friends, no one can take the middle position. It’s either one is on the side of God or on the side of the devil. If your heart is not occupied with the Spirit of God, then demonic spirits will move in. Anger, wrath, bitterness, hatred, and the likes will attract demonic spirits. Submit to God, stop fighting with Him and crossover to God’s side today.

Prayer points
1. Father, I repent of every anger, wrath, bitterness, and the works of the flesh, and I shut the door against the devil in my life in Jesus’ name.
2. I refuse to stay in the middle line and to pose myself as an enemy of God in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. I keep filling my heart with love and the word of God, lest a vacuum be created in my life.
2. I love God, and I don’t pick quarrels with Him for whatever reasons.
