ARE YOU DISAPPOINTED?

ARE YOU DISAPPOINTED?

Text: Isaiah 55:8-9
Memory verse:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My father in the Lord once shared a story with me about a faith preacher. On one occasion, while he was preaching in a village crusade, the cloud started gathering. He continued preaching and confidently declared that it won’t rain and if it did, it will mean that God hasn’t called him into ministry. Incidentally, there was a heavy downpour that day. Thus, he felt so disappointed that he abandoned his call and moved to live in another village. While there, a native saw him and identified him as the powerful preacher. Shocked, he asked what he was doing there. The preacher told him that God has disappointed him and he was done with preaching. This man lamented and told the preacher how his prayer and preaching had disgraced their occult power. He told him how the occults had reinforced themselves to attack him as he was preaching in that crusade. The mastermind came to the crusade with charms in his pockets. A condition was attached to the charms’ operation, which was that, they must not be beaten by rain. So, the people knew that the preacher’s God brought the rain, to stop the attack on the preacher and to disgrace the occult power. He added that, with the rain, the intended attack backfired and the mastermind got paralyzed since then. The discouraged and disappointed preacher then realized that the disappointment was for his good. God indeed answered his prayer but in a different and a better way. The incidence made the locals to recognise the supremacy of the preacher’s God.
Friends, God is never late and can’t be locked up in a straight jacket. The foolishness of God will always be far greater than the wisdom of man (1 Cor 1:25). He can accomplish His purpose in different ways. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. There is no disappointment in God as every disappointment is a divine appointment.
Have you prayed about an issue and it turned out to be what you didn’t expect at the least. Choose to be thankful and trust God’s wisdom to give you the best. Learn to rest in His judgment and you will enjoy His peace.

Prayer points
1.Father, please, teach me to trust Your wisdom and to rest in Your judgment at all times in Jesus name.
2. Father, please, turn every human disappointment to divine appointment for me in Jesus name.

Today’s declarations
1. I enjoy perfect peace because I daily surrender my ways to the higher ways and my thoughts to the higher thoughts of God.
2. I may not understand now but I believe that every human disappointment is a divine appointment for me.
