Text: Job 22:21-29
Memory verse:
âWhen Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, âI am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.â
ââGenesis⏠â17âŹ:â1⏠âNKJVâŹâŹ
God stands out as the only uncreated being. He is called the El-Shaddai, which has a root meaning of the Almighty. A similar meaning is
âThe Overpowerer,â meaning God will do what He purposes to do, overpowering all oppositions. This describes His unlimited authority and power. He is infinitely sufficient for all needs; sufficient to nourish, sustain, or protect.
There are three attributes of God that stand Him out and which He doesnât share with man.
First is His Omnipotence. This means He is all powerful. He is the authority and the power. Every other being receives authority and power. They have to be obedient to authority for them to be an authority. God is authority, He is not under any authority and doesnât obey any. The order of a delegated authority can be overruled by the superior authority if it doesnât comply or align. No higher authority can overrule Godâs order. When He speaks, everything in creation obeys Him, and thus, nothing is too hard for Him (Gen 18:14; Isa 55:11). Hallelujah!
Second is His Omnipresence. He is everywhere at the same time. The phrase âAlpha and Omegaâ describes His continuum. Both the past and future co-exist in Him. He doesnât need to rewind to go to the past, neither does He need to fast forward or travel, to go to the future (Rev 1:8). No man can be at the same place at the same time. Even Jesus in His human form couldnât do that.
The third is His Omniscience attribute. This is His ability to know all things; to have perfect knowledge, perfect understanding, and perfect wisdom. He doesnât need to learn anything, nor does He forget. He has perfect knowledge of everything that has happened, and that will happen. Humans research to discover things, but God knows things that man hasnât discovered (1 Sam 2:3; Acts 15:18). Godâs omniscience is based on his authority, for He is the supreme judge of all things, and He is the ultimate standard of what is true and false. He can never be wrong. Glory!
Friends, if the Almighty is for you, nothing will be impossible for you. Nothing will be late or delayed for you, and nothing will be shielded in a mystery for you. You will be a working wonder in your world! Hallelujah!
