Text: Psalm 115:3

”And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.“

No one can function effectively as a believer who does not have a good understanding of God’s authority and power.
God’s power flows from His authority. God’s authority stands for God Himself while His power stands for His acts. In other words, without authority, there is no God. His throne is established on His authority and His acts issue from His throne.
Authority is the right to make decisions and to exercise control.
Power is the ability or capacity to influence a person, a thing or a circumstance to get a desired outcome; or the capacity to compel others’ compliance through the use of force. ”And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.“ ‭‭(Matt‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬). This means, God can overrule every satanic influences in your life to deliver you.
Every authority is backed up by power. “Yours is the kingdom and the power”. Thus, authority is the right to use power.
Every authority has the sphere where the use of power is allowed, beyond which, it becomes illegal. Only God’s authority is unlimited and infinite. He doesn’t take permission to exercise authority in any human or satanic affairs. Even in hell, He has authority. ”…And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.“ (‭‭Rev‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬).
In the real sense, God does not have authority, for He is authority. For you to have authority means you have received authority. God does not receive authority but He gives authority. Every other authority is delegated and can be withdrawn since they are from Him (Dan 2:21).
Likewise, God is all powerful. He doesn’t have power nor is He a powerful God. Rather, He owns all power and all other power is from Him. ”God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you;“ ‭‭(Psa‬ ‭62‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬).
God has authority and can exert power over anyone or anything in heaven, on earth or underneath the earth. He can withdraw delegated authority or overrule it. He enforces His will as He pleases. No one can question or stop Him. Hallelujah!

Prayer points
1. Father, I praise You, for You alone is the all powerful God, Yours is the kingdom and the authority.
2. Father, please, overrule any satanic power exerting negative influences over my life, in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. As I willingly submit to God’s authority, I commit Him to overrule all other negative influences over my life.
2. Since God is authority Himself and He is All-powerful, I fear nothing, as long as I am with Him.
