BENEFITS OF KNOWING GOD 3

BENEFITS OF KNOWING GOD 3

Text: Philippians 3:1-8
Memory verse:
”Yes, the Almighty will be your gold And your precious silver;“
Job 22:25 NKJV

Knowing God personally and experientially makes you have a better view of God and a lesser view of the world. That’s why things get smaller as you go farther away from it but bigger when you are nearer.
According to our memory text yesterday in Job 22:24, one prime result of acquainting more with God is that you will give up your lust for money or your pursuit of earthly things.
Paul, according to his own account in Philippians 3:4-6, was the best Jew and Pharisee of his generation. Having attained this height and with his impressive profile, Paul abandoned all for the pursuit of a higher calling in God. In fact, he counted them as rubbish; as garbage, mere garbage, in order to gain what is so much more valuable, that is, Christ. “Not only those things; I reckon everything as complete loss for the sake of what is so much more valuable, the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake, I have thrown everything away; I consider it all as mere garbage so that I may gain Christ” (Phil 3:8 GNT).
In like manner, as you grow deeper in your knowledge of God, the Almighty Himself will become your gold and goal! He will be your pursuit and pleasure; your search and satisfaction. He will be more than money to you. He will be matchless and incomparable to you. He will be too precious for you to trade for anything, be it money, name, or fame! You will rather give up all other things joyfully than lose Him. ”Yes, the Almighty will be your gold And your precious silver;“ ‭‭(Job‬ ‭22‬:‭25‬).
If you have God, you have material wealth because all resources on earth and in heaven are His. When you make God your pursuit and pleasure, gold and all other needs will follow you.
Friends, let the Almighty be your precious, matchless and incomparable pursuit and He will give you an inner satisfaction.

Prayer points
1. Father, let me pursue You more than any earthly goal, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, be my gold and my precious silver and I will not trade You for anything, in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. Everything becomes mere garbage to me as I get more acquainted with God.
2. The Almighty is my God and my gold; my pursuit and my pleasure and I won’t trade Him for anything.
