BLESSINGS AND CAPACITY

BLESSINGS AND CAPACITY

Text: Psalms 95:8-11
Memory text:
“Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It will be foolish to attempt to force 20 liters of water into a 5-liter container.
Not because the water is bad but because the container is too small. Even God couldn’t give more oil to the widow of the prophet than the vessels she had gathered! The oil stopped flowing, not because God ran out of oil but because the woman ran out of containers. ““Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.” (2 Kings 4:6). Likewise, God will not waste His promise by pouring it into an unprepared life. He prepares or enlarges the vessel before He releases the overflow. Most of the time, the problem is not usually about the blessings but about the capacity to receive the blessings.
God takes His children through long routes to build them into persons strong enough for the promise. In His wisdom, God delays elevation until character can handle celebration.
Also, it is not enough to go through the long route if nothing grows inside you. Time does not automatically build capacity. A person can spend years in the wilderness and still collapse at the border of promise. He collapses because capacity is not built, though years were spent. Just as a person is not awarded a college degree just for the years spent but for proving to the school examination board that he or she has acquired both character and learning. Also, God is more concerned about who you become on the journey than how long the journey lasts.
Israel spent 40 years in the wilderness, yet an entire generation still died there. They travelled but they didn’t transform (Num 14:11; Heb 3:19). They spent years but didn’t learn God’s Ways; they weren’t progressively better. Distance without development changes nothing. Capacity must grow, or collapse is inevitable. It isn’t enough to travel the long route; you must grow on the journey, otherwise the weight of glory will still crush you. It isn’t enough to spend a decade in a church, yet with a baby’s capacity.
Many Israelites couldn’t enter Canaan, even though they got to the edge, not because Canaan was too strong but because Israel was too weak in mindset. The land didn’t reject them, but their fear disqualified them (Num 13:31-33). The promise was ready, but the people weren’t.
Friends, do you have the character, knowledge, faith, or image capacity for the blessings you are praying for?

Prayer points
1. Father, rescue me from the error of Israel—journeying without growing. Rather, let capacity be built with years spent with You, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, equip me with knowledge, refine my character, build my faith, and implant the image and mindset that will fit my promised land, in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. My journey will not be wasted; I will grow in capacity as I go. I grow in learning, faith, character, obedience, strength, and maturity.
2. I will not die at the edge of destiny. I will not stop the flow of God’s blessings into my life because of inadequate capacity.
