Text: Romans 8:28-31
Memory verse:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
Friends, storms or challenges of life are inevitable. At the marriage in Cana of Galilee, the celebrants didn’t expect the sudden shortage of wine, yet the challenge became a huge blessing to them (John 2:11).
The effects that life challenges have on a person is first a factor of whether he or she has a helper or not. Then, if there is a helper, is the helper capable? Is the helper willing? Lastly, is he available at the time of need?
Jesus is the Helper with infinite ability, that is, He is capable(Eph 3:20). He is always willing to help those who seek for His help. Jesus instantly responded when a leper asked if He was willing to heal him, and said, “I am willing”. Matt 8:2-3 NLT. He is also always available. It is known that some people who died in car crashes would have survived if capable and willing helpers had arrived at the right time! One of the covenant names of God which is expressed in Jesus is Jehovah Shamah, meaning, the Lord who is present. Unlike man, His title never changes to ‘Late, Ex or Rtd’. His ever-presence secures you in the challenges (Isa 43:2).
This is the Jesus who was invited to the feast as a special guest. If the storm became such a blessing with Jesus as a guest, how much more when He is resident in you! Hallelujah!
Prayer points
1. Father, thank You for being in me as my Resident Helper in Jesus name.
2. Father, let all human disappointments in my life become divine appointments in Jesus name.
Today’s declarations
1. I ride on the storms of life because I have a capable, willing and available Helper.
2. Jesus is my Resident Helper through life journeys and not a guest at every feast.
