Text: Colossians 2:11-15

”He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,“
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is light, and His kingdom is called the kingdom of light while satan is darkness and his kingdom is called the kingdom of darkness. God is called the Father of light, but satan is called the ruler of the darkness of this world. Believers are called the children of light and of the day, while unbelievers are the children of the night and of darkness. Believers walk in the light, but the sinners walk in darkness.
Thus, the power of darkness refers to the authority, dominion, control, rule, sway, and influence of satan and his demons. Satan is called the god and the prince of this world. He has a right to rule this world since Adam gave his authority to him in the garden of Eden. He held the ‘lease’ of this world until Christ, the second Adam, took it back from him. Jesus rose up from the dead to boldly announce, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth“ ‭‭(Matt‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬). Before this time, satan exercised dominion over the world. He controlled the mind, thoughts, and eventually the actions of people. His kingdom is completely opposed to the kingdom of God. While in the kingdom of light, righteousness and holiness reign, unrighteousness and sin reign in the kingdom of darkness; truth is the standard of living in the kingdom of light but deception in the kingdom of darkness; healing and health are the bread of the kingdom of God, sicknesses and diseases are that of satan; and while joy and life are the fruits of God’s kingdom, it is sorrow and death in satan’s kingdom.
Praise God, for He has conveyed us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light; no longer under satan’s dominion! Thank You, Jesus.
How? Jesus ”…disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.“ ‭‭(Col‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬). Now, since He died in your place, as your substitute, His triumph is your triumph. Glory! Everyone who has accepted Jesus as his or her sin offering is no longer under the authority of satan. They can also stop satan’s influence and bring down God’s kingdom in their areas of influence in the world.
Friends, this is the truth about you. You have been delivered and not that you will be delivered. Believe this and stand firm and unshakable in faith to enforce your authority in Christ over the works of darkness. You belong to the light, and light prevails over darkness. Hallelujah!

1. Father, thank You for delivering me from the power of darkness and conveying me to the kingdom of light, in Jesus’ name.
2. I take authority over every work of satan in my life, and I enforce my deliverance in Jesus’ name.

1. I don’t beg satan because I have authority over him. Instead, I enforce my authority.
2. I exercise my authority over satan not only by resisting him but by standing firm and unmovable in my faith.
