Text: 1 Corinthians 11:23-30
Memory verse:
“For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.”
I Corinthians 11:29
While natural healing is about eating healthy food and exercising, medical healing is the use of medicine and scientific principles. Yes, these are also God’s provision but we must not miss out of God’s major and perfect provision for healing and health through the Lord’s body. Although there are many reasons that can be inferred as causes of sickness in the scriptures but the New Testament made one reason to stand out. “For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.” (I Cor 11:30).
Notice that it didn’t say “for these ‘reasons’ but for this ‘reason’. This is instructive. The reason is “…not discerning the Lord’s body” (I Cor 11:29). To discern is “to learn and understand something by examining, investigating and discriminating”. The Message bible says, “If you give no thought (or worse, don’t care) about the broken body of the Master when you eat and drink, you’re running the risk of serious consequences.”
The bread is not a snack but a covenant meal. You must give thought to the meaning and honour the Lord for it, as you eat. Not discerning the Lord’s body causes weakness, then sickness and eventually, untimely death. It also means, when you properly discern the Lord’s body as you eat, you will enjoy healing and health. Thus, the communion is God’s provision for our healing and the renewal of our health. As you discern the Lord’s body and eat the bread, every weakness will be converted to strength and sickness to healing and health in Jesus name.

2. Father, thank You that my level is being changed from the sick to the healed and to the healthy in Jesus name.
