Text: Psalms 139:13-17
Memory text:
“So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Psalms 90:12 NKJV
Do you also realize that you are not an accident of God’s creation? This is what God said about you.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer 29:11 NLT).
Even if you were born out of wedlock, rape or if your parents consider your conception a mistake, God planned your life before you were ever conceived? You existed in His mind before you were formed in your mother’s womb. Your uniqueness is well planned. That’s why you are different from others. Even identical twins don’t have the same fingerprints. God planned your colour, height, structure, and the positioning of your eyes, nose, and the minute parts of your body. You are not a biological accident or a genetic error.
Do you also realize that the number of your days on earth had been planned and that He has scheduled each day? Yes, He appointed days on earth for you and recorded it in His book even before you had your first birthday! David said, “you saw me before I was born. The days allotted to me had all been recorded in your book, before any of them ever began” (Psa 139:16 GNT). The CEV says, “…Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything about me.” Everything about me has been planned and written! Wow! The NLT says, “Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Is this not amazing? Every moment laid out before a single day! Awesome!
Friends, if God paid so much attention to planning for your life, then you will please Him if you seek to know His plan for every area of your life and to plan in line with that plan. You know God’s plan for your life primarily through His written word. You will find fulfillment and peace in life if your plans fit into His will for your life.
You also need to make each day count by planning for it. A day that has not been planned for may be wasted or be spent outside God’s will. Life is not only about living long but living a meaningful life. Methuselah lived 969 years, and all that was spoken of him was that he lived and died (Gen 5:27). Your life will count when you count your days. You count your days by planning for each day in line with God’s eternal plan. May your years count for God, in Jesus’ name.
Prayer points
1. Father, please, reveal Your plans for me and let me never plan outside Your will, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, let my life count for You this year, in Jesus’ name.
Today’s declarations
1. I find fulfillment and peace when I find out God’s plans for my life, and I plan along.
2. Long life without a daily plan to walk in God’s plans is a wasted life and a life that does not count.
