DO YOU HAVE A PLAN?

DO YOU HAVE A PLAN?

Text: Luke 14:28-32
Memory text:
“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Do you realize that you have already spent 24 hours of the 8,760 hours of the new year, 1,440 minutes of the 525,600 minutes, and 86,400 seconds of the 31,536,000 seconds? The year is counting down so fast, and before you realize it, it will be another crossover night. Most people just get excited about the joy of a new year, pray about protection in the new year, but have no plan for it. Some manage to have a mental plan but have no written down or concrete plans.
Some think that it is unspiritual to have plans, quoting James 4:13-16 . No, this scripture is saying the opposite, that is, warning against planning without involving God. Yes, that’s the worst thing that can ever happen to a person. That’s a guaranteed failure already, the kind of plan that reduces a person or business and adds sorrow to it. God wants you to depend on Him and to acknowledge Him in all your ways from the start and throughout the process (Prov 3:3-5; Jer 10:23).
Our God is the greatest planner. If you look closely at the story of creation, you will see that the events did not take place hastily, nor did He employ a fire brigade approach. Rather, the step by step creation proved that they were the outcomes of deep strategic planning. He knew what should come first and what should come next. Can you imagine if He had created the vegetation and the animals before the land and the waters? What if He had made man before everything? Would that not have been a failed project and wastage of resources. Yes, I agree that, as God, He can do anything and make anything happen and anyhow without necessarily following an expected process. However, God wants us to learn the need to plan and the benefits of planning.
Our text today teaches us the importance of planning. As it’s often said, “He who fails to plan, plans to fail” and “He who aims at nothing will hit nothing”. Success comes through planning, but failure is the reward of neglecting it. The sage confirms it, “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” (Prov 21:5 NLT).
Friends, don’t just have a mental plan but write them down and commit them to God from the beginning and as you progress. May the Lord bless all your plans in Jesus’ name.

Today’s prayer points
1. Father, please command Your blessings and fulfill all my year 2025 plans, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, direct my steps this year and let my plans lead to plenty and abundance in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. God blesses my plans because I acknowledge Him in all my steps.
2. I enjoy plenty and abundance because I don’t act impulsively or hastily but with diligent planning.
