DON’T GIVE UP

DON’T GIVE UP

Text: Mark 5:25-29
Memory verse:
“Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any,” Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭43‬
‭‭
Aside from knowing the truth, standing firm on that truth is key. God is always pleased with faith, irrespective of who exercises it, whether a Jew or a Gentile.
A proof that you truly believe what you say is holding on to it even when evidences at your disposal say the contrary. This is where many miss it. They have more confidence in other reports than on God’s report. These folks throw away their confidence and confessions just because of a contrary report. Quitters and staggerers don’t ever win in the battles of life.
“My righteous people, however, will believe and live; but if any of them turns back, I will not be pleased with them.” ‭‭(Heb‬ ‭10‬:‭38‬ ‭GNT‬‬)
Again, the scriptures have this to say about Abraham who became a father at one hundred years. “he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;” (Rom‬ ‭4‬:‭20‬ ‭KJV)
Similarly, a Syrophoenician, a typical Gentile woman, received healing for her daughter for her persistent faith, even with the seeming refusals. Four times she met brick walls, yet she didn’t stagger nor wavered in her faith (Matt 15:22-28).
Also, the story of the woman with the issue of blood teaches never to accept ‘no’ for an answer. The scriptures say “She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse.” ‭‭(Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭26‬ ‭NLT‬‬). Who would have blamed this woman if she had given up on life? Or if she had accepted her condition as a “cross” which she had to carry for the rest of her life? Yet she didn’t give up hope nor did she stop making efforts. When she heard about Jesus, she believed it was her moment and she determined to seek Him against the fear of her reproach being exposed.
Friends, don’t give up. You will soon become a reference point of God’s healing power. Amen
