Text: Matthew 14: 25-31

”For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.“

One enemy of faith that all believers must watch out for is doubt. In fact, it’s a monster and the greatest enemy of faith. It renders faith impotent and neutralizes its effect. It is a robber that many believers haven’t identified. It robs people of their blessings or of receiving God’s best.
In the scriptures, you see that the Lord always rebuked people for their doubts. ”And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”“ ‭‭(Matt‬ ‭14‬:‭31‬).
What is doubt? From our text, Peter once had faith, but it carried him for a while. He was walking on the water until he turned his eyes away from Jesus and began to look at the storm. There and then, he began to sink. Jesus thus said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” To doubt is to turn away one’s eyes from the Lord. It is to quit acting on faith. It is to quit acting on the Word of God.
As a result of the doubt, Peter could not sustain his miracle and he began to sink. Likewise, many times, some people receive great miracles but lose the miracles because they could not sustain their faith. Doubt slips in and they begin to look at the circumstances and consider the symptoms. They begin to look at the deaths, destructions, plagues, insecurities and famines all around instead of the table which the Lord has set before them. Thus, they begin to degenerate. They begin to sink in their health, finances, marriage and so forth. They either lose the miracles completely or they have less than God planned for them. They lose God’s best for their lives because of doubt. The plan of God for Peter was to walk on the water by himself and not to be helped. The fact is that Peter would have completely sank if not that the Lord intervened in His sovereignty.
Friends, doubt limits, hinders and creates impossibilities. Don’t allow doubt to rob you of God’s best or the fullness of your destiny. Don’t accept those negative and discouraging thoughts in your mind that say you can’t get out of that mess. Your health can’t recover. You can’t pass that examination. You don’t have the ability. You are a failure. It’s too late to break the addiction. You won’t ever get out of that debt. You won’t be happy in that marriage again.” Those are lies to rob you of your miracles.

Prayer points
1. Father, I believe that You are the God of miracles, please help me never to doubt You, in Jesus name..
2. Father, help me never to quit looking at You and to accept the whispering negative voices in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. I won’t quit looking on Jesus and considering God’s Word, lest satan rob me of God’s best for my life.
2. I believe God still does miracles, so I won’t give those negative voices a chance in my life.
