Text: 2 Chronicles 35:20-25

Victims of evil programming obey the instructions of the enemy without knowing. How can you explain why a man with grown-up children and a responsible wife will move out of his family and personal house to live alone in a rented room for no just reason! A family man now lives as a single. He goes to the market by himself, cooks by himself, cleans the house by himself, does everything alone, and sleeps alone! He has been programmed and is unconsciously obeying the commands of the enemy.
When you see someone jubilating in the pathway of destruction, like an ox going to the slaughter, that is simply the manifestation of evil programming. The person is under the influence of a remote power without knowing. It is like someone who had escaped death twice and had been warned by his doctor against consuming a particular substance or food that triggers the illness, yet he goes ahead to consume it!
According to our text, Josiah, the king of Israel, died a pitiful and an avoidable death. He was a great king of Judah, who sought God and brought great reformation in the land. He began to reign at eight years and reigned for thirty-one years. For reasons beyond the natural, Josiah decided to engage the Pharoh-Necho of Egypt, who was advancing against the Syrians. The fight was not necessary because he was not provoked , nor did he come his path. The king of Egypt warned him against the fight since he had nothing to do with him and that he was on divine assignment. He was so blunt that he described Josiah’s plan to battle him as a fight against God, which may take his life. Yet, Josiah was so hardened and rash that he still didn’t consult God about his plans, especially with the king of Egypt’s divine warning. He was just blindly obeying evil orders towards his destruction. Josiah ignored the warnings, even disguised himself in another man’s armour to fight Pharoh-Necho, and he was killed in the process through an arrow injury.
Likewise, many lives, homes, and financial resources have been wasted through wrong and foolish decisions programmed into the victim’s lives. May you not dance to the music of your enemies, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer points
1. Let every power waiting to celebrate my destruction be destroyed now, in Jesus’ name.
2. Evil programming against my destiny, I detach my life from your hold now, in Jesus’ name.
