Text: Matthew 14:22-33
Memory text:
“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20 NKJV
Faith will launch you into the realms of the supernatural because it pleases God (Heb 11:6). God responds when He is happy with a person. He can respond in different ways but in most cases, He responds by stepping into the situation to manifest His supernatural power.
“So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.”
(Matt 14:29). As soon as Jesus called Peter to come, Peter shut the door on every form of fear, including the possibility of drowning, stepped out of the boat to walk on the water. Faith doesn’t consider what is seen but what God says. Faith acts on God’s Word irrespective of the contrary situation or even when you don’t have answers for what comes after. Like Martin Luther King Jr said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”. It is always like that in our Christian walk. Most often, we don’t see the whole staircase but have just enough faith for the first step. God expects us to trust Him for the unknown future. What step of faith is God leading you to take now?
Peter honoured God when he stepped out in faith to walk on the water and God responded by overriding the laws of gravity, the natural law which makes drowning possible, with His supernatural power. Unfortunately, when he moved from faith to fear, he lost it and began to sink. This is one of the reasons why many people have incomplete testimonies or lose their testimonies.
The water stood as a limitation between Peter and Jesus but with his faith, he broke through the limitation. What are the things that stand as limitations or impossibilities between you and your divine destination? With your faith, you can overcome that limitation. David said, “For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall.” (Psa 18:29).
Friends, what is impossible with an ordinary man is possible with a man of faith. A man of faith is a man with God. A man with God is one who operates in the supernatural realms. Be a man of faith today!
