Text: Hebrews 11:1-6
Memory text:
“But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.””
Galatians 3:11 NKJV
God has not called us to live the ordinary, common, or natural life but the supernatural. To live the supernatural life is to live in the power, presence, and wisdom of God. It is to live the Holy Spirit-controlled life. The supernatural life is a higher, uncommon, and extraordinary life.
Faith is a very important key in living in and growing in the supernatural life. Faith is not a religious practice but a way of life. It is the currency of the kingdom. Without it, you can not participate in the kingdom life, which is the supernatural life. “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Heb 11:6).
Faith is simply taking God at His Word; believing and acting upon His Word. It is a lifestyle. It is not something you do sometimes. It is ingrained in every aspect of your being and every aspect of your life. Some people only remember to practice faith when they have a need and want to believe God for it.No! Faith should reflect in our eating, our relationships, businesses, jobs, even in the services we render … in everything. The phrase, “…for the just shall live by faith’ is repeated in four places in the Bible, to show the importance God places on living by faith (Hab 2:4; Rom 1:17; Gal 3:11; Heb 10:38). It is also called a ‘walk’ in 2 Cor 5:7. To live and to walk carry the same message. In fact, living outside faith is regarded as sin. “But he who doubts is condemned if he eats because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.” (Rom 14:23).
To claim God’s sonship and to live as such in the world is the first demonstration of the supernatural life in every believer. Every believer was born in the supernatural when salvation was received by faith. Like the wind that blows but which no one knows where it’s coming from and where it’s going, so our lives cannot be explained by anyone (John 3:8; Eph 2:8).
Faith delivers us from slavery mentality and gives us an uncommon and supernatural confidence. We stand, not in fear or timidity but as blood-washed, forgiven, justified, and loved (Rom 5:1; 2 Tim 1:7).
Friends, you need faith to live the supernatural life. Therefore, be committed to growing your faith from now.
