Text: Daniel 10:10-13
Memory verse:
“Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.”
Daniel 10:12 NKJV
Thanking God ahead is a powerful act of faith and a mighty weapon. It is a way of declaring your faith in God.
God is happy when you consciously do this. He is looking for people who will thank Him ahead of the birth of their Isaac; ahead of the fall of their wall of Jericho; ahead of the victory over the gang ups; ahead of the multiplication of their bread; ahead of their deliverance from the siege; and ahead of the resurrection of their dead and hopeless Lazarus!
This kind of faith secures your all-around victory. 1 John 5:4 says, “… The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith.” (MSG).
According to our text today, since the first day that Daniel set his heart to seek understanding from God, his prayer was answered. “Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.”
(Dan 10:12 NLT).
So, it wasn’t that God was reluctant to give him his request in the first place and that his continuous request eventually overcame God’s reluctance! Not at all. Rather, his request was approved and dispatched from the first day. His answer was already en route from the first day of his prayer!
Yet, during those twenty-one days, it would have seemed that God didn’t hear his prayer. No revelation and nothing got better. It looked like things were not ever going to change. This is the place where most believers lose their faith. They begin to fear and worry. They start entertaining fears and negative thoughts.
Friends, believe that God heard you the first time you prayed about that issue, and He has set the promise in motion. Unlike Baal, our God does not sleep, nor slumber. His ears are never heavy. He is eternally acclaimed as the God who hears prayer, to whom all flesh come (1 Kgs 18:26-29; Psa 65:1-2).
Thus, anytime you think that your prayer was heard the first time you prayed, begin to thank God that your answer is on the way: that your promise is in motion. Hallelujah!
Prayer points
1. Father, thank You that You heard me the first time I prayed about the issue, and I thank You that my answer is on the way, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, thank You that my promise is in motion; the right person is already in my future, and my healing is springing forth.
Today’s declarations
1. Anytime I think that my prayer was heard from the first day I prayed about the issue, I begin to thank God.
2. As I thank God in advance, I walk in victory over all negativities.
