Text: Daniel 3:10-30
Memory text:
“He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that there their hands cannot carry out their plans”
Job 5:12 NKJV
It doesn’t matter if you are young or old; when you walk in faith, even kings will be subject to you, and you will frustrate their words. Kings may decree, men may command, but faith bows to no throne but heaven’s. Faith frustrates the word of the king because the King of kings always has the final say.
Faith is higher than human authority because it anchors itself in the authority of God. The decree of man is limited, but the decree of heaven is eternal. True faith in God can overturn decrees, laws, or words spoken by earthly powers, or even satanic powers in the heavenly places, no matter how final they seem.
“…and they have frustrated the king’s word…!” (Daniel 3:28).
These three Hebrew men were not just religious about God, but they believed in His Word and trusted in Him. Your belief will be tested on the day of trouble. Those who truly know and believe in their God will be strong and do exploits (Dan 11:32). Rather than compromising or rationalizing disobedience, they stood on what they believed. Faith frustrates ungodly commands when you stand on God’s truth.
Instead of trembling, they challenged the king’s word with God’s Word. They declared that they could not bow to the living God and then bow to man or any golden image. Your faith is activated when you boldly speak out what you believe. They declared that God will deliver them from the king’s furnace, but even if He doesn’t, they wouldn’t bow. Faith is like crossing a bridge and then blasting it behind you. God does not only deliver from trouble but goes with you into it.
The king’s decree was to kill them, but God frustrated that word by protecting them in the furnace. Faith draws the sovereign power of God into human affairs.
The men who were meant to die ended up causing the king to proclaim God’s greatness. Faith doesn’t just frustrate evil words; it turns them into testimonies. Men may prepare their hearts, but the answer of the tongue is by the Lord. Men may move motions, but God determines the outcomes ((Prov 16:1, 33).
Friends, be determined to grow strong in the Lord rather than running after men. People who beg God don’t beg men. When you stand strong in faith and refuse to compromise, God will stand with you, deliver you, and even cause your enemies to acknowledge His sovereignty in your life. Hallelujah!
