Text: Malachi 3:8-12
Memory text:
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.”
Malachi 3:10 NKJV
God didn’t create us to live the ordinary lives but the supernatural. Our lives and our sustenance are meant to come from above and not from the earth, like David said, “ My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” (Psa 121: 2).
As a believer, you are to live your life connected to the supernatural power. To live outside this is to live the natural life like all men. It is a life lived under sweat, like the blessing pronounced on Esau, “By your sword you shall live..” ( Gen 27:40).
Giving is a non-optional key to accessing God’s supernatural provisions. Covenant blessing is accessed through keeping covenant responsibilities. Tithing is a covenant key to enter into the covenant of supernatural supply.
Tithing opens heaven’s floodgates of abundant blessings. It releases favour upon the works of your hands.
Giving helps us to overcome the natural inclination to be stingy or greedy. This is the problem of every man except those who have been saved through Christ and whose minds have been renewed. This is why a little child who has just been given a pack of biscuits would shrug his shoulders and refuse to offer a piece of the biscuits to the person who gave him! Even some believers say, “I don’t believe in tithing as it belongs to the people of the old covenant”. They speak heresy out of ignorance and the greediness of their hearts (I Tim 6:10). They think only of themselves. Greedy people get angry when someone else gets even a small fraction of something that they already have in abundance. Even though God gives us the greater portion, that is 90% of our earnings, they are still not satisfied until they take from the small portion that God has kept for Himself or they keep the whole! (Lev 27:30). Someone who received a million as income or profit considers 100,000 tithe too big to give to God. He says, “How can I give this whole amount to God?”. Unlike King David, they are stingy to the God who gave them all that they have (I Chron 29:14).
Friends, don’t shortchange yourself by being stingy to your God. Don’t withhold your tithe or become unfaithful in giving it. Tithing is your covenant key to enter into the realms of access to supernatural provisions.
Prayer points
1. I put to death every stingy or greedy nature in me, and I replace it with generosity, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, I receive grace to be faithful in my tithing and to keep my covenant responsibilities in Jesus’ name.
Today’s declarations
1. Through faithful tithing, I have daily access into God’s supernatural provisions.
2. Stinginess belongs to the old nature, but faithful tithing is proof that I have conquered it.
