Text: John 2:1-3
Memory verse:
âAnd He said, âMy Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.ââ Exodus⏠â33:14
ââ
I once read a story of how, a group of drunken friends, in Brazil, went to pick up a friend. Worried about their drunkenness and holding her daughterâs hand, who was already seated in the car, her mother said, âMy daughter, go with God and may He protect you.â She responded, âOnly if He (God) travels in the trunk, because inside here, itâs already full.â Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident and their car damaged beyond recognition and with no survivor. Surprisingly, the trunk was intact! Also, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs with no egg broken! Yes, God was in the trunk!
Beloved, I welcome you to the month of glory and not doom or shame. In our text today, the celebrantsâ family invited Jesus and His disciples to the wedding ceremony. Even though, they were family friends and knew that Mary would be there, they didnât assume that her Son, Jesus, would attend. They knew about His supernatural birth and the Messianic prophecies concerning Him, so they specially and intentionally invited Him to the ceremony. What a wise decision! It was an invitation to the Word, the Presence and the Glory of God. None could have fitted into the role He played if He wasnât there! Friends, life is too risky to be run without God(Jer 10:23; Isa 63:9). The wisest decision you can ever make in life is to invite Jesus to go with you in life. Donât assume but be intentional about it and you will have rest.
Prayer points
1. Father, I earnestly ask You to go with me in all my steps and journeys in December in Jesus name.
2. Father, let me enjoy all round rest, miracles and wonders throughout the month in Jesus name.
Todayâs declarations
1. Wise people intentionally invite Jesus into their livesâ affairs but the foolish shut Him out.
2. Life is too full of deadly bends and potholes and to be run without Jesus.
*Take the wisest decision today. Invite Jesus to your life and He will give you rest (Matt 11:28).
