GOD CAN DO MUCH MORE (3)

GOD CAN DO MUCH MORE (3)

Text: 2 Kings 5:13-15
Memory text:
“So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”
‭‭II Kings‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As the Omnipotent, God is not the powerful, nor is He one of the most powerful but the all-powerful. As the all-powerful God, He does not consult any power, nor does He draw power from any. His power is backed up by His authority. God doesn’t consult biology before He performs miracles.
Naaman had leprosy, a disease that destroys the skin, nerves, and tissues. Leprosy comes with huge social and mental consequences. Naaman’s influence and power probably shielded him from the worst of the social isolation, but the stigma, shame, and personal suffering were still real. Even though he was a respected army commander, his leprosy overshadowed his achievements. He was “great, but…” (2 Kings 5:1).
Unlike in our days, leprosy was incurable then: no medicine could stop it. Even now, the damage it causes to nerves and skin is still irreversible. Biology’s rule is that, once the skin has decayed and nerves are damaged, they cannot come back to life.
Biology sets the limits; medicine couldn’t help; but faith broke the boundary. When Naaman obeyed Elisha’s instruction to dip seven times in the Jordan River, he proved that he believed that healing was possible. Obedience proves that you trust God enough to follow His Word, even when it doesn’t make sense. He acted in faith when he acted against reason, against biology and against medical evidence. Faith moved him from the natural to the supernatural realm. Faith believed that healing was possible; obedience unlocked the healing. What biology called a ‘dead case’, obedience-based faith released God’s power to restore. “…and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, ..” ‭‭(II Kings‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬). “..and his skin became as smooth as a child’s.” (CEV).
Does God still restore today? Can your health come back to the former state, despite the damage that sicknesses have caused? God says, “For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds, …” ‭‭(Jer‬ ‭30‬:‭17‬). Can you regain the health that your past sinful and unhealthy habits have caused? Yes, you can. God restored all that you lost when He justified you. Justification restored all your benefits in Christ.
Friends, don’t let biology cause you to lose out. Don’t let medicine shut you out of your inheritance in Christ. With faith-based obedience, restoration is possible. Hallelujah!

Prayer points
1. Father, instill in me the faith-based obedience and let every promise and blessing attached to my obedience be released into my life, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, just as You restored Naaman’s skin, restore my health and every area of my life that sickness, shame, or limitation has damaged, in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. What was once damaged in my life as a result of sickness, past sinful or unhealthy lifestyle, is being restored through my faith-based obedience.
2. God is renewing my youth like the eagles. My eyes won’t grow dim, and my natural vigor won’t diminish. My bones won’t be brittle but will be strengthened. My healing is speedily springing forth; my health is being restored, and my wounds are being healed. Hallelujah!
