Text: Luke 19:41-44

Imagine a father sitting as the head of the academic board to examine the final year medical students in their oral examination. He watched to see his son demonstrate ignorance as he was quizzed on a particular subject area. Sad but helpless he would be to his son because he was guided by a law which he was bound to obey. Likewise the kingdom of God is operated by the law of knowledge. No one is permitted access who is ignorant of the area of his need.
In our text today, we see how Jesus wept over Jerusalem. This is the second record of Jesus weeping in the Bible. He wept here because the people didn’t know. He wept because of their ignorance. He wept because He couldn’t help them, as He was bound to uphold the law they had broken. They have refused to know the things that make for their peace and now they would continue the suffering until the end comes. They would have escaped the afflictions if they had known. AMPC of Luke 19:42 puts it this way: “Exclaiming, Would that you had known personally, even at least in this your day, the things that make for peace (for freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin and upon which your peace–your security, safety, prosperity, and happiness–depends)! But now they are hidden from your eyes.” ‭‭(Luke‬ ‭19‬:‭42‬ ‭AMPC‬‬).
They were ignorant of the things that pertain to their peace, security, safety, prosperity and happiness.
You make God helpless when you reject knowledge. It is the light that ends the darkness of the night. Darkness represents a time of ignorance and light represents knowledge, the revelation of God’s word. Until light comes, weeping will continue. Until the book is opened, no end to weeping(Psa 30:5; Rev 5:5).
May the Lord expose every area of darkness in your life in Jesus name.

Prayer points
1. Father, please, show me the things I need to know for my peace and to move to my next level in Jesus name.
2. Father, please let the power of the revelation of Your word end the night time of weeping in my life in Jesus name.

Today’s declarations
1. I seek knowledge because ignorance empowers satan against me.
2. Knowledge is the power that ends the night time of weeping in my life.
