Text: 2 Peter 1: 1-4
“as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,” (II Peter 1:3)
Do you know that God has already provided all that you will ever need for your life here on earth and for your life hereafter? It is not that He will provide but that the provision is already made with your name boldly written on it.
“as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,” (II Peter 1:3).
However, this provision can only be accessed through the correct knowledge of God. And the more knowledge of Him you have, the more you will have and enjoy the “things” He has provided. That is, if you want to have and enjoy more, you will need to increase your knowledge. God is not the limiting factor but your knowledge. You can only have and enjoy what you know. That also relates to how you prosper. You prosper to the degree that your soul also propers (3 John 2). You also live in the perfect will of God to the degree of your mind renewal (Rom 12:2). You live like God to the degree that you think like God (Prov 23:7).
The insight of God’s word that you have will determine the quality of your life. So many beloved children of God still live miserable lives not because they don’t actually love God, fast or pray but simply because they lack knowledge. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6). A similar reason why many believers experience daily defeat, is not because they are not born again or because God couldn’t help them but because they don’t have correct knowledge of God. “Jesus answered, “You’re off base on two counts: You don’t know what God said, and you don’t know how God works” (Matt 22:29 MSG)
Friends, do you genuinely love God and fast, pray and still experience defeat and failure? It’s time to place higher value on knowing God and His word. Pay the price of knowledge and you won’t pay the price of ignorance.
1. Father, please, help me to place value on knowing You and Your word in Jesus name.
2. Father, please give me revelation knowledge as I read, study and meditate on Your word in Jesus name.
1. I can only have and enjoy what I know.
2. And the more knowledge of God I have, the more I will have and enjoy the “things” He has provided.
