Text: Acts 21:10-14
Memory verse:
“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”
Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV
The vision of a leader is an end where the leader directs and invest his energy and resources. It is a picture of a desired destination. It’s the dream and direction for your organization. It’s the map to your destination.
In creating a vision, never allow the environment, others’ beliefs or the limits of what has been done in the past to shape your vision.
Leadership and vision can’t be separated. A leader does not just have a vision but vision is a value that makes a leader. It’s like trying to ride a bike while being blindfolded! No one will dare do that. Likewise, a leader without vision is going no where. “Where there is no vision, the people perish: …” (Prov 29:18 KJV)
Vision gives birth to passion. Passion is the force that drives the leader and keeps him moving in spite of the hardships and obstacles on the way of fulfilling the purpose. A person of vision can’t be discouraged or stopped.
“Then Paul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Acts 21:13 NKJV
Vision guides the decision of the leader and helps him set his goals. If you are convinced of your purpose, that purpose will generate a vision and the vision will ignite passion and passion will eventually inspire people to follow you. No one wants to follow someone who isn’t passionate. People are influenced when they are inspired.
Friends, do you have a vision for life, which is strong enough to ignite passion in you?
Prayer points
1. Father, please, sharpen my vision again and ignite my passion in Jesus name.
2. Father, please, give me a greater vision of Your purpose for my life in Jesus name.
Today’s declarations
1.The discovery of my purpose for life produces vision and vision generates passion in me and when my passion is ignited, it produces inspiration and inspiration results in influence.
2. As a leader, I don’t just have vision, vision is part and parcel of godly leadership.
