MAINTAIN YOUR CONFESSIONS IN THE STORM

MAINTAIN YOUR CONFESSIONS IN THE STORM

Text: 2 Kings 4:17-27
Memory verse:
“Please run now to meet her, and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ ” And she answered, “It is well.””
‭‭II Kings‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬
‭‭

The worst thing that can happen to a believer is to change his/her faith confession in the midst of the storm. That’s actually the goal of the devil and that’s what causes faith confusion. That is, believing God for something but confessing something different. James 1:7 says “For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;”
We have earlier said that storms will come whenever you take a step of faith and after prayer and fasting. That’s exactly what happened to the Shunammite woman in our text for today. Few years after having her miraculous old age son, the storm blew and the child suddenly died but the woman’s faith didn’t die. She maintained her faith confession even before her husband and throughout her journey to her prophet, saying “It is well”. So was Caleb who maintained his faith confession for 45 years in the midst of the wars and wandering (Joshua 14:10). Likewise, the apostles refused to change their confessions in the midst of threats (Act 4:19 -20).
Friends, your prayer and fasting didn’t insure you against storms but only removed its power to destroy you. Get prepared to ride on the storm by maintaining your faith confessions in the midst of it. Keep confessing what you believe and not what you are facing now. It is what you consistently confess that you will possess. Your words are seed sown and it’s what you sow that you also reap. Your expectations of the Lord will not fail in Jesus name.

Prayer points
1. Father, help me to maintain my faith confession in the midst of the storm in Jesus name.
2. Father, set a watch over my lips so I will speak right words and not cause faith confusion in Jesus name.

Today’s declarations

1. Prayer and fasting do not insure me from the storm of life but insure me against it’s destructive power.
2.Maintaining my faith confessions in the midst of storms guarantees fulfillment of my expectations.
