Text: Genesis 24:1-7
“So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.” (Ruth 2:2)
My heart was very heavy as I set out to return. I had travelled a long distance to see him again but this time, I felt he was at his last moment. His eyes were half opened and his words were few. Sensing that I might not return to meet him, I pleaded with him to speak some words into my life. I was glad he did, as that turned out to be my dad’s parting blessing. I had since enjoyed the reality of that grace. If being in the right place and at the right time are products of grace, then you need to know how to draw such grace.
“The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, ‘To your descendants I give this land,’ He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.” (Gen 24:7).
Your parents, be it biological or spiritual are God’s delegated authorities to release God’s grace on you. Abraham pronounced God’s blessing for divine guidance on Eliezer and the confirmation was seen in the miraculous meeting of Rebekah.
Also, the steps of Ruth were directed to the right place and at the right time through the release of grace on her outing by her mother-in-law. Ruth had earlier received Naomi as her mother and had lined herself under her authority. “So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.” (Ruth 2:2). Naomi released her for an encounter and she was led to the field of Boaz, her husband’s uncle, who eventually redeemed her.
Friends, don’t trivialize parental blessing in the journey of your destiny. It will cause your path to cross the right people that will be a blessing to you and position you for right happenings.
1. Father, please restore to me the parental blessing that I missed in my time of ignorance and help me never to miss out again in Jesus name.
2. Father, please impart grace into my life and position me for right happenings through my parents’ blessing in Jesus name.
1. Parental blessing is one of God’s channels of dispensing grace into my life.
2. I will ask for and do everything to provoke the blessing of my parents for good success.
