Text: Joel 2:25-27
Memory verse:
“You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.” Joel 2:26
July is the seventh month of the year. Seven is a very important number in the scriptures. For example, the mighty wall of Jericho went down when the children of Israel walked round it for seven days and seven times on the seventh day. Naaman was healed of his leprosy when he dipped himself in river Jordan seven times. The cloud of rain appeared after Elijah prayed seven times. The number seven stands for perfection, completion and totality.
Another word that is related to seven is ‘shalom’. Though, it also carries the word, peace, as it’s meaning, no English word can fully represent its Hebrew meaning. The Hebrew Lexicon describes “shalom” as completeness, safety, soundness (in body), welfare, health, prosperity, peace, quiet, tranquility, contentment, peace used of human relationships, and peace with God especially in our covenant relationship. What a powerful word!
When God therefore perfects, He brings in ‘Shalom’ in all ramifications, including safety, health, prosperity, provision and success.
You cannot have perfection without a restoration of what was lost. The gap must be filled and that which was removed must be put back. Even lost opportunities, lost years, and lost time will be restored. This is what God promised when He restores. “Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the Lord your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will my people be disgraced.” (Joel 2:26 NLT).
Hallelujah! God is ready to set you back on your heels in wonder! He will crown the year with His goodness just for you (Psa 65:11). Even the years lost in sin and ignorance will be restored.
Friends, you are entering your best season of the year. Irrespective of what the past looked like, align yourself with His promises and look forward with high expectations. Glory! Begin now with a loud praise for what He is about to do. Seven hallelujahs of perfection!
Prayer points (Spend some time for the next three days to praise God for what He did in the past six months and what He will do in this last half of the year)
