Text: Genesis 24:10-21

“Then he said, “O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham.” Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭12‬

Smith Wigglesworth once said, “If you seek nothing but the will of God, He will always put you in the right place and at the right time.” Yes, success in life is never a factor of strength, smartness, intelligence or skillfulness but being at the right place and at the right time. These two factors will cause you to meet the right people and the right opportunities. This is what Ecclesiastes 9:11 says, “… The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.”(NLT).
Eliezer, set out to do the will of God and his master, Abraham (Gen 24:2-4). So, he prayed, according to our memory text. There are two main points of his prayer. First, “give me success” and the second, “show kindness” The root meaning for success here is “to cause things to happen for one or to encounter, meet without prearrangement.” This was similar to the prayer of Nehemiah (Neh 1:11).
The word ‘kindness’ means grace, that is, unmerited favour. The coming of Rebekah, Abraham’s niece, to the well at that particular time was divinely arranged. It is only by grace that you can be at the right place and at the right time. It is grace that will cause things to happen for you, without any human manipulation. Grace will make you to be a wonder.
Eliezer’s name means, “My God is help.” Grace comes on those who truly trust on God to help them. You need the help of God to position for right happening and to give you success in life, family and work. Never depend on your ability but on God’s grace.

1. Father, please cause me to always seek Your will in every of my steps in Jesus name.
2. Father, please give me success and show me kindness in my present pursuit in Jesus name.
