Text: Hebrews 7:4-10
Memory verse:
“His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭112‬:‭2‬

As at 2020, the world Jewish population was estimated as 0.2% of the 8billion world population yet they take 22% of Nobel Prize winners in the world! Also, Forbes once reported that Jews made five of the top ten wealthiest Americans. These can’t be coincidental but highly significant. What has made such a small race to standout in the fields of science, medicine, technology, entertainment etc? Many people have tried to trace it to reasons like DNA, IQ etc.
The Jews today are the beneficiaries of the generational blessings that have proceeded from the blessings of the tithes of their forefathers. Most Jews understand the benefits of tithing and they religiously practice it.For example, a common religious slogan in the Jewish culture is “Aser bedevil shetisasher” which means ‘tithe so you can become rich’.
The Jews so much revered father Abraham and made reverence to Abraham who gave tithe to Melchizedek.
Now, Levi and the sons of Abraham were in his loins when Abraham paid tithe.
“Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.” (‭‭Heb‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬-‭10‬).
When Abraham gave that tithe, his future generation also gave tithe with him and were also blessed. So the Jews are direct beneficiaries of such blessing. However, the real Jews are not those of natural descent but the believers. “For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.” (Rom 2‬:‭28‬-‭29‬).
Therefore, as believers today, we have better connection to the blessing of Abraham if we walk in the faith of Abraham. Tithing is an act of faith. Psalm 112:1-3 confirms the generational blessing in the godly man. Friends, procure a generational blessing through faithful tithing.

Prayer points
1. Father, let the blessing of faithful tithing flow to my children and children’s children in Jesus name.
2. Father, help me to walk in faith and to be consistent in my tithing in Jesus name.

Today’s declarations
1.Tithing connects me to my unborn seeds and generation.
2. I can’t claim the blessing of Abraham when I don’t walk in the faith.
