Text: Acts 9:3-16
Memory text:
“who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,”
II Timothy 1:9 NKJV
In his speech, Martin Luther King Jr declared his purpose, “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the new meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.’ …I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the order of their skin but by the content of their character”.
Dr. King’ s purpose was the pursuit of equality in his country and the conviction of his purpose, produced, passion and vision, which inspired millions of people to follow.
Our Lord Jesus was clear in His purpose. He boldly declared, “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”” (Luke 19:10).
According to our text, apostle Paul received his purpose on his way to Damascus. God told Ananias about him and said, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.” (Acts 9:15). Paul said of himself, “to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.” (II Tim 1:11). He gave himself up for the purpose of taking the gospel to the Gentiles. Paul, who once opposed the gospel, had his life turned 180 degrees after receiving his purpose. His conviction ignited the passion in him that nothing could stop. He declared, “I am not ashamed of the gospel”. He also said, “I am obliged to preach the gospel”. In fact, he was unmoved even when his death was prophesied. “Then Paul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”” (Acts 21:13).
God created everything for a purpose. Man was created to lead (Gen 1:28). In other words, every human being is born with the potential to lead. However, God calls each one of us with a specific purpose. He wired each one of us with an assignment on earth. Purpose is the original intent for a thing. It is the reason why something was created. Purpose is what stands out a true leader because it provides an assignment for life and gives life a sense of significance or meaning. Every true leader knows the contribution they were destined to make to their generation.
Friends, have you discovered the purpose for your existence? This is what will make you a true leader and will give your life a meaning.

2. Father, please, stop me if I am pursuing a wrong purpose in life and redirect me to my original purpose, in Jesus’ name.
Today’s declarations
1. The discovery of my life’s purpose ignites conviction, vision, and passion, which nothing can stop.
2. God created me to lead and has also given me a specific assignment for life.
