SANCTIFICATION AND POWER 2

SANCTIFICATION AND POWER 2

Text: Psalm 19:7-14
Memory verse:
ā€He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.ā€œ
ā€ā€Malachiā€¬ ā€3ā€¬:ā€3ā€¬ ā€NKJVā€¬ā€¬

ā€œFrom Glory To Glory Heā€™s Changing Me, Changing Me, Changing Me. His Likeness And Image To Perfect In Me. The Love of God Shown To The World. For Heā€™s Changing, Changing Me, From Earthly Things To The Heavenly. His Likeness And Image To Perfect In Me, The Love Of God Shown To The Worldā€.
This old but powerful song expresses the goal of sanctification.
Every child of God is called to live a sanctified life. God wouldnā€™t call us to live a life that He hasnā€™t enabled us to live. You need to believe that this is an attainable goal. You canā€™t be sanctified without faith. ā€œā€¦Then their sins will be forgiven, and by faith in me, they will become part of God’s holy people.” (Acts 26:18 CEV).
While you have a responsibility to live a sanctified life, you must never lose sight of the power of sanctification, that is, the Holy Spirit. In trying to live holy lives through self effort, many believers have been taken over by the religious spirit. Even our Lord Jesus had to depend on the Holy Spirit to live a holy life throughout His time on earth. He was also declared to be the Son of God by the Spirit of holiness. ā€œand declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.ā€ (Rom 1:4).
The Holy Spirit works like a refinerā€™s fire. Like gold is refined in a fire, as we daily yield to Him, He refines and purges us of every sinful habit and every contamination. As precious as gold is, raw gold is not valuable until it is refined by fire (Mal 3:3).
The Holy Spirit also engages the word of God for our sanctification. The word has the power to rebuke, correct, and instruct us in righteousness. It convicts us and enlightens our darkness. No one who stays regularly under the word through reading, meditating, and listening will ever remain the same.
(2 Tim 3:16).
So, Jesus prayed, ā€œSanctify them through Your word. Your word is truthā€. The word has the power of cleansing (Psalm119:11; John 15:3).
May the Holy Spirit transform you daily from earthly things to the heavenly and may His image and likeness be perfect in you, in Jesusā€™ name.

Prayer points
1. Father, by the working of Your Holy Spirit, please transform me from earthly things to the heavenly, in Jesusā€™ name.
2. Father, refine me by the fire of Your Spirit so I may offer the offering of righteousness to You, in Jesusā€™ name.

Todayā€™s declarations
1. The Holy Spirit empowers me to live a holy life in an unholy world.
2. The Holy Spirit rebukes, instructs, and corrects me through theĀ wordĀ ofĀ God.
