Text: Numbers 25:1-9

“But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.”

If the enemy has failed in all his attempts to humiliate you, stop you or kill you, then the next thing he will most likely do is to set you up against your Helper.
During a deliverance session for a brother, who lost his mind about two months after graduating from school, the demons confessed how they had made several attempts for about four years to stop his great destiny but couldn’t succeed because of his spiritual fervency. However, during the vacation while he traveled to his aunt in another town, they found that his fervency had dropped and they immediately stirred up a teenage girl to seduce him. Once he fell, his protection was removed and hurriedly, they stepped in. He lost his mind and that would have been the end of that glorious destiny, if mercy hadn’t prevailed.
Amazed about the honour and glory of Adam, the serpent decided to set him up against God by causing him to rebel against His Maker (Gen 3:1-7).
When Balaam saw that God wouldn’t allow him to curse Israel, having set his mind on the gain from Balak, he decided to set them up against God by luring them into sexual sin. ‭‭(Num 25:6-7‬). What about David? What the hatred and the sword of Saul and all his opposers couldn’t do, the sin of adultery did it! (2 Sam 12:10-12).
Each of these brought pains, reproaches, afflictions, death and generational curses! Likewise, so many who escaped childhood poverty, household wickedness, ghastly road accidents and deadly infirmities eventually died in the lap of ‘Delilah’ or from the delicacies of ‘Jezebel’! What a waste! (Prov 7:22-23).
Friends, be wise and don’t let the enemy set you up against your Helper. If God be for you, who can be against you but if He is against you, who will fight for you? May you be wiser than all your enemies in Jesus name.

Prayer points
1. Father, deliver me from all satanic setups and fill me with wisdom so I can be wiser than all my enemies in Jesus name.
2. Father, let Your fear keep me from sin so I won’t bring pain and death on myself and my family in Jesus name.

2. What household wickedness can’t do, sexual sins will achieve easily.
