SAVED TO SERVE 3

SAVED TO SERVE 3

Text: Exodus 31:1-6
Memory verse:
”John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.“
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We now know that every believer has been saved to serve Him. God has given each one of us talents to serve Him.
How do you serve with your talents? ”And to one, he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.“ ‭‭(Matt‬ ‭25‬:‭15‬). A talent is your natural ability, a special ability to do something or an endowment unique to you. Although, God has given each one of us a talent, but in different degrees. For example and according to our text, God gave a special ability to design artistic works but in different degrees to Bezalel and Aholiab.
If we recognize that God is the giver of our talents, the question of whether we should use it to serve or not shouldn’t even arise. If you bought a car for your son, will it be right for your son to demand payment anytime you need his service? I wonder why a believer will have to demand payments for any service rendered in the church! God, being a wise investor, expects you to use your talents for the growth of His church.
In the Bible days, brethren sought opportunities to serve God with their talents, and they did it with joy. Today, some who may not want to demand payment for their services in the church turn around to connive with outsiders to defraud the church. Your action today can attract mercy to generations after you or judgment (Exo 34:7).
You may ask if those who are on full employment of the church should also be paid. Yes, they should be paid because, unlike those who work in the church at their own time and receive wages elsewhere, for an employee deserves his wages (Luke 10:7).
Friends, are you talented in music, artistic works, administration and organization, technical works, construction works? Have you gained experience or skill in education, health, finance, business, ICT, technology, agriculture, or any field that can be a blessing to the church? Discover where you can use it to serve in the church and count it a great joy to be used by Him.

Prayer points
1. Father, I recognize that all I have come from You and I willingly surrender them for Your use, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, please, let me serve You as my responsibility to You and not for selfish or financial gains, in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. I recognize God as the giver of all things, so I serve Him with my talents, skills, and experiences.
2. As I freely serve my talents in the church, I provoke generational blessings.
