SERMON TITLE:                Supernatural Rest

SERMON TEXT:                  Hebrews 4: 10

MESSAGE

I welcome you to Church, the first Sunday of the Month of Rest. God’s been so good to us as a Church, individuals and as families. The testimonies are awesome, God will do more. Read from Isaiah 65:20 – 23 and I want you to claim God’s promise concerning your life. He has exalted His Word above His Name, He is a covenant keeping God.  I announce the counsel of God to you here this morning that the remaining days of this year, you will have great harvest for your labour. You will no longer labour in vain. The devourer will not devour your harvest. All recalcitrant children, the Lord is bringing them back to Him. You will have rest over your children and family. Amen.

God has been so good and He will yet be good to us. God’s goodness that He has kept for you is great (Psalm 31:19 – 20). He has kept great goodness for you for the rest of the year. Yesterday morning, I received a phone call and the person said, “Go to the park, I am sending someone there” and by evening, the vehicle arrived. We sent someone to the park and he came back with two heavy boxes. I am saying to somebody here who believes this word, grace is in this place and in this month of July, God will saturate you with His goodness. God will wake up somebody to do you good. God will suddenly fill the heart of somebody to remember you. What others struggle for and lose their seat and integrity for will pursue you. Goodness and favour will run after you. Mercy will pursue you. I stand here by the grace of God and the anointing of God upon me, Father I ask that before the end of this month, let there be a repeat of this testimony.

The Bible says there is a secret of entering into Rest. One of the secret is that you will cease from work. You cannot be working and enter into rest. The work I am talking about, that the Scripture is talking about is not the work you do for you to eat. What the scripture is saying is, “Stop Struggling”. The race is not for the weak, the battle is not for the strong, bread is not for the wise, riches not for the men of understanding, favour not for the men of skill but being at the right place at the right time (Eccl. 9:11). Stop struggling, stop depending on your intelligence and capabilities. Learn to ride on the wings of grace. Learn how to soar and rest like the eagles. When the other birds struggle with the storm, the eagles rest on the storm and still go to heights the other birds cannot go to. Anyone who wants to enter into God’s rest must learn to cease from work and trust Him. Like David said in Psalms 44:3, “We did not possess the land by our sword, neither did our arm give to us the land but the right hand of the Lord, the arm of the Lord, the light of His countenance, because He favours us. I pray for you, this month, what you do not qualify for (job, contract, promotion, etc.), the Lord will give you. Learn to just ride upon His grace. When you work, work in this context, don’t trust on that labour. Act like Paul in 1 Cor. 15:10. Anyone that will enter into His rest must cease from labour. There is one who sleeps late and wakes up early and eats the bread of affliction. Learn the secret of entering into God’s rest this month.

Psalms 34:9 – 10 says, “Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” I pray for you, this month, supernatural intervention will be a daily experience in your life. So, ‘stop’ so that you can enter into God’s rest. It will just happen, you won’t understand. It is better for a king of a city to go hungry than for a child of God to go hungry. I pray for you, you won’t go hungry, you won’t beg for bread.

One of the reasons why you need rest is that you can’t do anything successfully in life without rest. When you are troubled, you can’t make progress nor think straight. If a family is in crises, the children will suffer, you can’t think straight nor think about your spouse. A nation that has no rest cannot develop. If you don’t have rest also in your body and think about how to enjoy your health everytime, you can’t think of what to do next; because if you spend your time thinking about your health, what time do you have to think about other things? 2 Chronicles 14:6 – “He built up the fortified cities of Judah, since the land was at peace. No one was at war with him during those years, for the Lord gave him rest.” Pray, ask the Lord to give you rest on every side.

7 is a number of rest (Gen. 2:2 – 3). The scripture says something happened here in 1 Kings 18:44, Elijah was praying and he kept asking his son to go and check. By the seventh time, his son came back and said he saw a cloud. This is what the Lord is saying, “By the month of July, your long awaited prayers will manifest. Expectations will be turned into manifestation. Prayer points will be turned to praise points. That long expected prayer will come to pass. The season of delay is over, the Lord will suddenly make a way for you where there seems to be no way.” Amen. Can you see it happening? The reason why you have to see these happening is in Jeremiah 1:12 – “Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word’”. What you cannot see, you cannot seize. Can you see it happening? Say, “Father, I see it happening. My expectations will be turned to manifestations. My prayer points will be turned to praise points. I see it happening. I believe it.”

Hear, “I don’t care the affliction. I don’t care about the name of the disease. I don’t care what the name of that infirmity is called, I have come in the name of the Lord of Host, this month, the 7th month, shall be a month of release. Right now, my father, with the whip of the Holy Spirit in my hand, I rebuke every disease that has hitherto inflicted pain on and afflicted your people, I curse them now in the name of Jesus.”

2 Kings 5:14 – So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. Elisha told Naaman to go and dip himself in Jordan. He did it the 1st time up to the 6th – nothing happened, but at the 7th time… 7, the month of rest. Enough of your toil and pain, even God rested on the 7th day. The 7th time he entered, he came out and the Bible says, “His flesh was like the flesh of a newborn babe.” There was a release, he was released from what held him down, from the cage. I pray for you, the anointing that brings about release, I release it upon you now in the name of Jesus. Come out of every prison or cage. Come out now in the name of Jesus!

Deuteronomy 15:1 – 2: “At the end of every seven years, you shall grant a release of debts. And this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbour shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbour or his brother, because it is called the Lord’s release.” I announce to you, the month of July is the month of the Lord’s release. You confirm the words of your servants, you bring to pass the counsel of your messenger. Lord, your word will not return to you empty. I am releasing this same word unto your people who believe, this month of July shall become the month of your release, even right away, you are released1 You will have rest on every side, no more war! Give Him praise.

 

God fights for those who are on His side. The Bible says, the Lord is on my side, I will not fear what can man do to me. You must be sure the Lord is on your side. If the Lord is on your side, then you also must be on the Lord’s side. So many times we say the Lord is on our side, but are you sure you are on the Lord’s side? If the Lord is on your side, you don’t need to fear, but if the Lord is not on your side, you will become a prey. If you are here this morning and you know in your heart that you have not actually surrendered all to Jesus, that you want to cease from your own work, stop struggling and enjoy God’s rest, put your left hand on your chest. Say, “Lord, I stop struggling from now. I give you my heart. I come to your side that you will help me from today. Jesus, you are the Lord. Thank you, Father.” Say this prayer, “Lord Jesus, I surrender to you from today, I give you my heart and stop struggling. I ask you to take over.” Amen.
