MESSAGE

This morning, I am going to say a few things about our theme – The Mightiness of God. I told you the other time that God’s mightiness talks about God’s Power, God’s Strength, God’s Wisdom. When God revealed Himself to Abraham and said, “I am the Almighty”, Abraham was ninety-nine years old then. It was a time anyone would look at as no longer realistic for anyone to have a child because he would be considered a dead thing but God appeared to him and revealed His name to him as “The Almighty” which means, “I am the All-Sufficient. I am sufficient in all areas of your life. I am more than enough.” That is why He is called the More-than-enough God; the All-Sufficient God. One Hebrew translation also calls him the double-breasted God, meaning that you can keep on sucking; once you finish one, go to the other one, just like a mother breastfeeding her baby. Our God can never be exhausted. You cannot finish our God. You cannot ask anything from Him and He would tell you that He does not have enough. Our God is like an ocean, you don’t go to the ocean and say, “Let me take a little so that I won’t exhaust the ocean”. No! You can’t exhaust the water of the ocean. Our God is the All-Sufficient, the more-than-enough God, that’s why He is called the El-Shaddai. Let’s look at few ways in which this God is mighty.

God is Mighty in Power. He is great in power; power belongs to Him. Power is the ability to do work, that means, God can do anything. Psalms 95:3 downwards talk about the power of God. Our God is mighty in power, that’s why He is called El-Gibor in Hebrew. There is nothing He cannot do. So, when you describe the mightiness of God, you think about His powerful demonstration. Jeremiah 32:17 says, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” In verse 27, it almost repeated the same thing and says, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”

When He appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18, the Bible says, “And Sarah laughed”. She thought, “God, if this is a joke, stop it.” God then appeared to her and spoke in verses 13 – 14 of chapter 18, “And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” He said, I have spoken and it is done.

Our God is Mighty in Power, Mighty in Works and Mighty in Words. He is the One who speaks and does it: the Asoromatase, Alewi alese. That is why the Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and God was the Word.” That’s why Lamentations 3:37 says, “Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass when the Lord has not commanded it?”

Some of you get so much afraid when people threaten you and that is because you don’t know your God and who you are. You know, whatever you believe will happen to you. Why should you be afraid of what people say about you? If God has not said it, it won’t come to pass. You know what I do with such words? I just trash them; I throw them away. Funny prophecies – a lot of funny prophecies all around, some of them have seen evil things about you and you believe it. The first thing they do is to create fear in your heart. Remember, what a man fears happens to him (Job 3:25). They create fear in your heart and you begin to think about it, believe it and it will happen. That’s why you have to be careful, you’ve got to know more about your God. Daniel 11:32 says, “
those who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” Sing: Who can stand against the Lord? No one can. No one will. Oh oh oh! Victory belongs to Jesus. Victory belongs to Him.

When Pharaoh asked, “Who is that God that I should allow you to go?” God said, “I don’t need to struggle with you”. God doesn’t struggle with people, you know. Jeremiah said, “He is the God of all flesh”. In Exodus 15 from verse 3 downwards, the Israelites sang of what God did to Pharaoh. Verse 8 says, “And with the blast of Your nostrils, the waters were gathered together; the floods stood upright like a heap; the depths congealed in the heart of the sea.” I can imagine how big those nostrils are to make a way in the water. God is great and mighty in Ways. That’s why He says in Isaiah 55:8 – 9, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” God will make a way for you. Where the enemy never imagines, God will show up for you. Is somebody believing that? Where you least expect, before the end of this month, God will show up for you. By the unction of the Holy Ghost upon me, I say to someone here wherever you are, the Lord, the Way Maker will make a way for you. He will show up for you. You will not be stranded. He will create a new way for you. Amen. The Bible says with the blast of his nostrils, there was a way and the children of Israel walked in the way that God created. You know, there are some people who said they are never tired of pursuing you but very soon, they will meet with their waterloo.

The scripture continues in Exodus 15:9, “The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied on them, I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them,” Oh! The enemy was boasting. Who is that person threatening your life, destiny and family? I stand the name of God Almighty – the One who is mightier than the mightiest, may the Lord visit them. May the blast of the nostrils of God consume them. I release divine judgment upon the stubborn pursuers of your life. Let the hand of the Lord be against them in the name of Jesus.

Look at what the Lord did, He never struggled with them and in verse 10, the Bible says, “You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them; they sank like lead in the mighty waters.” We serve a great King and so, the Israelites began to sing in verse 11, “Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?” He will show himself glorious in your situation.

Prayer:

  1. My father, the Almighty God. Show your mightiness in my situation.
  2. Lord, I want to see the repeat of your works in my life. I want to see your mighty hand in my situation in this month of April.

Call to Salvation

The reason why flags are raised up during wars between nations is for people to rally under the flag of their own nation. You need to rally under the flag of the Almighty. You need to be under Him and submit to Him so that He can fight for you. If you want God to fight for you, then you need to be under Him. He doesn’t fight for those who are not under Him. You need to say, “Jesus, I submit my life to you. I submit everything to You. Jesus, rule in my life.”

If you want to submit to Jesus wherever you are right now, put your left hand on your chest and say this prayer with your mouth. Don’t think about it, say it with your mouth: “Jesus, I surrender to you today as my Lord and Saviour. I submit to you from now that you will take over in Jesus Name, Amen.” Now, you are saved, continue in Christ!

I pray for everyone here. From this moment, I release the hand of the Almighty God upon your situation. Before the end of April, as the Lord, the God who calls me live, you will see the mightiness of God in your situation in the name of Jesus. Wherever you are hearing this word, I release the Hand of God upon your situation, health, finances, career, business, children and job, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
