Theme: Signs and Wonders

Sermon Topic: Wonders without Numbers.

Text: Job 9:6 – 10

“Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

Which alone spreadeth out the heavens and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.

Which doeth great things past finding out, yea, and wonders without number.”

MESSAGE

The Lord said I should announce to those who care to listen that help is coming in 17 days time. Mark my word! God who has spoken is not a politician; He doesn’t speak to impress you, He only speaks to announce his intention. Between now and the next 17 days, somebody will receive help that will make him to dance. A help is coming your way that will make you to call everyone around you to rejoice with you. The Bible says, “you may not see the wind or rain, but the valley shall be filled with water.” What is coming, you cannot finish alone; what God is bringing your way is so heavy that you alone cannot finish it. Celebrate God for sending that Word to you!

We were looking at Signs in the morning, we want to look at Wonders tonight. Wonders mean the hand of God overriding the mouth of men. Wonder is when God tells human beings to shut up, saying “I am the one in charge.” The stone that was rejected by the builder became the chief cornerstone, how can you explain it? I know very soon that even unbelievers will follow you to rejoice. Amen!

Listen! It is only fools that deny proofs, and our God is a proof producer. By the time He gives you something, the whole world will say, “This can only be God!” I am sent here this evening to encourage somebody that it is not yet over, God is still at work! He is the only surgeon that works upon a patient without touching the patient. Listen! There is someone here, something is inside your body troubling you and the X-ray cannot find it; there is a God in the house who does wonders without numbers, He will work upon you in the midst of this meeting tonight. He will go to the source of that problem and will delete it. You will look for it and won’t see it forever.

God loves you so much that he doesn’t want you to die in your problems. I want you to know that no matter the problem you are passing through or that will pass through, God has made a way out of that trouble. Ps. 107:26, “They mount up to heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.” Troubles of life can melt the soul; some people here, your soul is troubled because of what you are passing through. V. 27: “They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end”. God told me He is here to help those who are at their wit’s end. God says I should announce to you, “You will not see shame!” Amen. You must have wept about that matter, God is coming for you.

There is a woman in the Bible who loved her husband so much and her husband loved her; they were very happy. They don’t have a child, but notwithstanding, they loved themselves. As time went on, God gave them a child, but suddenly, the man that this woman loved fell sick and died. The woman also wished to die, but people discouraged her, using her son to encourage her to live on. Because of the son, the woman was strengthened, but as time goes on – the devil is bad – the devil came to the family again and killed the boy; the woman was shattered. The whole village gathered around her and took the boy to be buried, they discouraged her from following them, but she insisted. On their way, when everything was about to end, Jesus came for her. There is somebody here, God says I should announce to you that He is coming for you. Amen!

The Bible says, “When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her”. He went to those who carried the coffin and touched it. Whatever the vision you are about to bury is, I speak in the name of Jesus, it will not be buried. The people put the boy down before Jesus; Jesus spoke to the boy – because there is nothing in the realm of the spirit that cannot hear – and told the boy to arise. The Bible says, the boy sat up and began to speak. The enemy killed the boy because they knew he will soon speak; I am here to announce to you that the message your enemies don’t want to hear, God will put it in your mouth. Jesus handed the boy over to his mother; everybody began jubilating because the God of wonders had stepped in. What I love most about the story is that some people were waiting by the graveside, probably to mock, without knowing the program has changed. I pray for you, that program the enemy drops for you, I release fire to catch it today in Jesus Name. The people were shouting and praising God, saying thank God, He has visited his people again. God will visit you today also!

God wants to perform signs and wonders in your life because He loves you. I have come to see this God as the help of the helpless. He was in the temple preaching one day when a woman that was caught in the very act of adultery was brought before him. Everybody came with stones in their hands, saying Moses said we should kill such woman, but Jesus did as if he did not hear them. I pray for you, the Lord will reply your enemy today, Amen. By the time he stood up, Jesus said He that is sinless should cast the first stone, but their mind began to trouble them. All of them left! You see, people who beat thieves most are also thieves, why? Because they think he is not smart. Jesus told her not to do it again and that He doesn’t condemn her. There is somebody here, the date of death the enemy has fixed is canceled in Jesus Name. Amen!

We serve a God of wonders, there is nothing He cannot do. He loves you so much, in fact, if you are the only one in this meeting, God will still perform signs and wonders. T. L. Osborne of blessed memory told a man of God if he knew the secret of miracles, the man said he doesn’t know and Osborne told him that if he wants to move in signs and wonders, the first thing is to love people. You cannot move in signs and wonders if you don’t love people that you want to pray for. The second is to Preach the Word, and the third is to believe what you preach. When you pray for people that they should be healed, don’t have doubt in your hearts; believe that what you say will come to pass.

Some challenges of life won’t give you time to rehearse! I was in my room one day when a woman screamed “Pastor!!!” I rushed out, but what has happened? Her daughter has died. I carried the girl and God said I should put my finger on her tongue, I touched the tongue, said, “Life!” and the girl came back to life. God wants to do wonders through you – Love people. They may not be of your religion – love people. If you don’t move in love, you cannot work in miracles. You must love people the way God loves them, “…for God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son.” God loves man so much that everything He has, He released it so that man can be redeemed – reason why you are not permitted to give up on any soul until he gets born again. God says I should tell you that He will promote you because of His love for you. “He raises the poor out of the dunghill and sets him up among the princes.” There is somebody here, even you don’t like yourself, but God loves you.

You may even be working for Satan, but you can tell him that you are no longer his staff. Tell Satan that you want to serve God. God does not take glory in your problems and challenges, He only wants to take glory in your deliverance. Tonight! You will call upon God, say “Father, take away this problem” and in his love, He is going to do it. He is the God of signs and wonders. The Bible says, “He turneth the mountain by the root.” Every mountain you see has roots but God can uproot mountains because before the mountains were brought forth, God exists. Your God exists before your problems existed. He is here today and He is going to help you!

There is somebody here, God is about doing a miracle that will shut the mouth of your critics. The only thing you can do to tell God you love him is to live a life that is above sin. If you are under the sound of my voice and you are not born again, you are missing a lot. Coming to Christ is the beginning of life. Every blessing I experienced in life happened when I became a Christian. If you are not a Christian, you are missing, losing and wasting. Come to Jesus tonight and He will help you.

If he will carry on signs and wonders in your life, you must obey his instruction. Whatsoever the Minister of God tells you to do, do it! Let me share this story: There is a friend of mine, – this miracle happened in his church – someone in their church who has been married for 8 years had no child, but as he was preaching one day, God told him to ask the person if he wants his miracles and the man said yes. Then God asks him if he can do what he asks him to do? The man said yes because he is so desperate for a miracle. The man of God said he heard God speak to him saying how will the man celebrate if He gives him a child? The man said he will gather people, feed them and everyone will be happy, God then told him to gather people, feed them as if it is his child’s naming ceremony. He is to bring the name he wants to give the child; it will be announced and everybody will eat as if it is a normal naming ceremony. Don’t forget, the wife was not pregnant and the man is not stupid. The mother-in-law disregarded the instruction, saying, how can they do naming ceremony when the wife is not even pregnant. However, the man decided to do it in the next two weeks. About 180 people gathered; they ate and drank and the names of the child was announced. Even Pastor’s wife was in doubt, she could not eat at home, however the pastor ate. Three months later, the wife called the Pastor saying she is not pregnant yet; the pastor told her that he has only acted based on instruction. Long story short, the woman took in and on the day of the naming, over 600 people gathered.

God is not a man that should lie, sometimes before God performs signs and wonders, he will give you a test. His instructions can sound foolish. For the person born blind and brought to Jesus, Jesus spat on the ground and made a mud, anointed his eyes with mud and told him to go and wash. As he was going, mockers were mocking him, but he obeyed the instruction, and came back seeing. People who knew him doubted if he was the one, saying he is not the one, it can never be him, it only looked like him, but he told them not to fight themselves, for he is the one.

In 2 Kings 5, General Naaman heard an instruction to dip himself in Jordan seven times. He founded it insulting at first, because he thought Jordan was below his rank. One of his boys cautioned him and advised him to do what the prophet asked him to do. He obeyed, dipped himself in Jordan seven times and when he came out the seventh time, the river carried his problem away. The Bible says his skin was like that of a new born baby. The Bible does not exaggerate, just like the skin of a new born baby, Naaman’s body was soft, smooth and shining. When Naaman came the first time, he came with chariots and noise while Elisha sat in the house and gave him instructions from the room; but this time around after discovering he has been healed, he humbled himself, no more noise. He came alone with his people behind him and said he will serve the God of Elisha forever.

Somebody under the sound of my voice, there is an instruction for you to experience signs and wonders. If only you will obey, there is always an instruction. I told you yesterday how God instructed the Israelites to march round Jericho, a city, once in a day. The last day they were to march round seven times. God also asked them not to speak as they marched. What an instruction, but they obeyed. My prayer for you is that when instructions come from God to you, may God give you the grace to comply.

God gives us instructions according to our capacity. In 2 Kings 4, the woman came to the man of God saying they were about to take her children to slavery. The man of God asks her what she had at home and she said a little oil. The man of God then told her to pour it into pots and it multiplied.
