Sermon Topic:      Lord, show my Enemies a Sign

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:”

MESSAGE

Pray! Holy Spirit, Glorify Jesus in my life, family and situation this morning.

 

I welcome you to the fourth day; this morning is your morning of jubilation, amen. The Lord put a word in my heart which I will share and pray with you: “Lord, show my enemies your sign.” Before I go ahead, let me tell you one thing that will happen this morning: the Holy Ghost will come upon you and you will do what you have never done before in your life. When the Spirit of God came upon Saul, he began to prophesy. There are people here who will receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 2:4 says “…bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost…” There are people here who desire God to use them; this morning, I have an assurance, God said to me that He will pour His Spirit on people. The gift of the Spirit will manifest in you.

 

In the second part of the testimony that Mrs. Jethro gave earlier, she said something and I want to analyse it. It was in a meeting just like this when the power of the Holy Spirit came down. The Spirit of God came upon a lady – she has never experienced it before – and for more than one hour, she was in another world and speaking mysteries that at a stage, I had to take my phone to record. Every word that lady said that day came to pass. It was very specific, she mentioned names; including marriage, bearing of children, everything she said came to pass. That was her first experience; the Holy Ghost came on her. I believe that someone here this morning will be visited by the Holy Spirit. The scripture says, “…bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit”.

 

When the water was stirred up, the scripture says the first person to jump into it is healed, but today, I present to you the real water. This water is the Holy Spirit. One of the symbols of the Holy Spirit is water. God is going to launch some people into the waters of the Spirit this morning and when you are there, you will come out new. If you long in your heart and thirst for it – the scripture says, “he who hungers and thirst,” – saying, “Lord, I desire you use me and fill me with your Holy Spirit”, your life will not remain the same, you will go out of here as a brand new person.

I told you the other day that a sign is an evidence which is like a claim of that which proves what you have said about yourself or what somebody else has said about you, that is, the evidence that what you claim to be is true. It is a token, a pledge or an evidence of a fulfillment of what has been predicted. When God gives a sign, He can give it to a believer, we have heard a lot since we started. The Bible says in Mark 16: 16 – 18 that those who believed and are baptized shall be saved; “…and these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

 

What is the sign given to the believer? The sign is that he has been delivered from the power of Satan; his name shall be called Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins. This person has been delivered from the control of Satan and has been given the authority to act like the one who delivered him. So, Jesus put the sign on him, “as the Father has sent me, I send you.” Therefore, anyone who is a believer will have these follow him as a mark even so that Satan will testify that he is different. Jesus carried so much to the extent that immediately the demon in the land of Gadarene saw Him, he cried out saying, “Jesus, what have you come to do in our midst”. Believers carry signs, but God also show a sign to the wicked, and when he does that, He does it to reveal who He is to the wicked.

 

In Exodus 5, Moses went to Pharaoh and told him God has commanded that Pharaoh let His people go that they may serve Him. Pharaoh then asked, “Who is that God?” I pray for you, God will give a sign to your Pharaoh. Who are your Pharaohs? They are those who say you won’t go through. What you have suffered in life, your children have started suffering it; the delay you had is being experienced by your children also; you make efforts but there is nothing to show forth; you have gone to see the best doctor and to diverse prayer meetings, but it seems your situation is getting worse; you have spent all your savings and are now bankrupt; you keep going back to the bad you said you won’t do again; you have made efforts to do something, but it is not working; what happened to your great grandfather, your grandfather and your father is also happening to you – premature death, seasonal sickness; evil things keep reoccurring even after you have tried everything: you prayed and suddenly it disappears for like 3 months, but then, it comes back and somebody copulated with you in the dream, this makes you feel sad when you woke up; you prayed again, it stopped for a while but then returned. All these point to the fact that there is a Pharaoh that doesn’t want you to go. You sleep at night, wake up and notice there is a mark on your back, you say it is a wall-gecko instead – there is a Pharaoh that doesn’t want you to go. Marital bliss is scarce in the family for both men and women throughout your generation – there is Pharaoh that doesn’t want you to go.

 

Friends, the list in inexhaustible. You struggle, even in business; you discover that building a project that should be completed within 1 to 2 years is taking 10 years; you are making efforts but there is a Pharaoh that doesn’t want you to go. The Lord said to me while I was sitting that there are some people here, a peg has been used to peg their progress. This morning, by the power of the Holy Ghost, the peg shall be rooted out. If you can pray this morning, God himself will launch you into the water and when you come out of it, you will be a brand new person. Pharaoh refused to let the people go, but God showed him signs, we know these signs already. When the 3rd or 4th one happened, his servants came to him to tell him to let the Israelites go because this man, Moses, has been a sneer to them. Pharaoh reluctantly agreed to allow them go, but he refuses to release all of them, asking the men alone to go while they leave their children, wives and cattle behind. Beloved! The power of God will touch you and your children and your business this morning, amen. Are you doing well and your children are not doing well? Are the children doing well and the parents are pains to the children? The mark of poverty and begging and the mark of penury shall be knocked down this morning by the power of the Holy Ghost. There are things that you don’t need too much work on, just let the Holy Spirit work in it. The Bible says, the earth was without form and void and darkness was on the face of the earth, but something happened, the Holy Ghost moved. I pray for you, the Holy Ghost will walk in your life, amen!

 

Moses told Pharaoh that no, all of them would go. God then told Moses to stretch forth his rod, he did, and locusts came. In Exodus 12, the scripture says God told Moses that every family should bring a lamb and kill it because they need its blood. Friends, I introduce to you the Lamb that was slain for your freedom. I introduce to you the man who die in your place, He who became the ransom for your soul. The blood was a sign which God instructed them to put it on the doorpost and the lintel of their house. It was a sign signifying that something has died for the person, so this person doesn’t need to die. Therefore, when the Angel of Destruction was going round, wherever he sees blood, he jumps over. Friends, there is a blood that has been shed for you, Pharaoh has no right to hold you down. You must be free from that bondage. Satan has no right to hold your children, he has no right to afflict you because Jesus has shed his blood for you. I want you to believe it, because that will be your strong point to pray this morning. Your freedom has been purchased, you have got to go to Pharaoh and decree your freedom. That night, when the children of Israel did it, something happened: the bible says that the first born of he who sat on the throne and the firstborns of the captives died, except the Israelites in Goshen.

 

That night, the same Pharaoh who refused to let them go told them to go; God showed him a sign. I pray for you this morning, God will show your Pharaoh a sign; wherever they are, my God will show them a sign, Amen! They will release you by force and fire. The scripture says, as soon as the stranger hear my voice, they will fear and submit themselves. Those things are strangers; I see a God who will show that Pharaoh a sign today. That thing that has troubled you for so long, all you need to pray this morning is, “Father, show my Pharaoh a sign” and after it, I will lead you to other prayers. Get set! It is not by power or might, the Holy Ghost will touch you and when He touches you, you will receive fire. God is going to visit you with His fire this morning. Are you ready?

Before you pray, know that there is someone who has paid the price, you have got to identify with him. Any house in Egypt that doesn’t have blood on their doorpost was slain. First, come to Jesus and believe in His atoning sacrifice for you. Believe that He died in your place and that he will give you the confidence that Satan can’t harm you. Sing, “I love that man of Galilee…”

 

It is a dangerous thing to touch that which belongs to the Lord, that is why you will pray this morning that the fire of God should touch everything that has held you into captivity; reason why you should give your life to Christ. I told you a story a long time ago that at the University of Ibadan, a professor and his family left their quarters and went to Church. When they are about to close their gate, their tithe envelope fell on the ground but they didn’t know and went to church like that. When it was time to pay tithe in the Church, the wife searched everywhere and was confused. She went to the car and search, but they couldn’t get it and so did not pay tithe that day. When they finished church, they went back home, entered the compound but didn’t see anything. Later that night, a man rushed into their house and said, while they went to church, he and somebody else came into their house to rob. As they entered into the compound, the first thing they saw was the envelope with a huge amount in it, they then went away to spend the money. That evening, one of them developed a headache; he was rushed into UCH but he eventually died there that evening. The second had to rush back to confess, he recognized what happened to his other robber as a sign and he doesn’t want that to happen to him. Whenever the enemy touches you, what you should ask God is to show them a sign.

For He has done so very much for me,

He has forgiven all my sins and sent the Holy Ghost to me,

I love the man of Galilee.

 

Prayer Points

1. You want to surrender all to Jesus and pray for salvation; you want to say, “Jesus, I believe the sacrifice you made for me and I want to apply this blood to my life.” Put your left hand on your chest and say, “Jesus, save me today, I believe you have died for me.” Say, “Jesus, you are the Lord, I confess you with my mouth that you died for my sins and God raised you from the dead. I believe it, Jesus, that you are the Lord. Thank you for saving me.”
2. Father, show a sign to all my Pharaohs that will not let me go.
3. Father, show yourself as my God to all the Pharaohs who will not let me go.
4. All unprofitable covenants holding me down, I break you today in the name of Jesus.
5. Every stranger holding me captive, hear the word of the Lord, submit and leave in Jesus Name.
6. You Pharaoh holding my family down, in the name of Jesus, let me go! Let us go!
7. Holy Ghost fire, touch the Pharaoh holding me down now.
8. I revoke every covenant of premature death in my life and in my family.
