Text: Luke 15:8-10

”The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.“

Life is sweeter when it is built on the ‘Give and take’ principle but boring when it’s lopsided. Is this not the state of most believers? We have turned the church to the “Bless me club”. Everyone seems to be concerned about his or her own interests and none about the interests of heaven!
”Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.“
‭‭(Luke‬ ‭15‬:‭10‬). Why this eruptive joy? These are angels who are always in the awe-inspiring and magnificent presence of God. They live in awe of Him and behold His spectacular greatness, which are beyond any human comprehension. Yet they are so excited about the sinner who repents that they rejoice with great joy. They get so exhilarated when this greatest miracle takes place that they hang up everything to celebrate! Wow! If they are rejoicing in the presence of God, it means God also is jubilating. The whole heaven is full of joy, shouts, and dance because of the repentance of one sinner and not many sinners! (Luke 15:7). One soul who is saved is worth more than all the riches of this world!
God loves to see wicked people repent and live instead of perishing. “I, the LORD God, don’t like to see wicked people die. I had much rather see them turn back from their sins and live” (Ezek 18:23 CEV).
Therefore, if you claim to love God, you need to love what He loves and hate what He hates. If you are enjoying His goodness, you ought to reciprocate it by causing Him joy. You cause more joy in heaven when you win souls: when you turn sinners back to God.
The church has become so complacent. We are not moved by what causes God to weep. Do you bother about the perishing around you? How many people have you consciously witnessed to since you got saved? How many have you invited to your church of recent?
The joy of heaven does not even make sense anymore. Brethren sit down, sit back and unexcited when souls are responding to salvation calls. Oh, my God!
Friends, year in and year out, there is not one person you can point at that came to church because you witnessed to him or her except that you are just enjoying God. Determine to cause great joy in heaven this year by giving yourself to strategic soul winning.

1. Father, please forgive me for my complacency and plant the compassion for the unsaved in me, in Jesus’ name
2. Father, please use me this year to cause great joy in heaven through soul winning, in Jesus’ name.

Today’s declarations
1. If the heaven rejoices over one sinner, then something must be wrong with me if sinners’ conversion doesn’t excite me.
2. I will give heavens great joy this year by winning souls for God.
