Text: Isaiah 55:1-3

“When I washed my steps with butter, And the rock poured me out rivers of oil;”

Only God will tell you to go to the store and buy without money. “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.” ‭‭(Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭1‬)
Everything you need that pertain to life and godliness have been purchased for you and kept in the store. Though you don’t have to pay for them any longer, you need to show a strong desire to have them. This may include going out from your house to the store and searching for them there. This may be the price required of you. Ignorantly, so many believers just want the despatch rider to get to the store and bring the gift right into their bedroom.
The anointing grows by the revelation of God’s word in you. According to our memory text today, there is a relationship between butter and the rock. Butter, cream, milk and honey are used to represent the word of God. 1 Pet 2:2 calls it the milk of God’s word. Isaiah 7:15 tells us that feeding on milk or curds and honey will give discernment. Nothing gives discernment like the word of God (Heb 4:12). Christ is referred to as the Rock in the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 10:4 describes Him as the Rock from which the Israelites drank from. Thus, as you increase in the wealth of God’s revelation, Christ will pour the oil of the anointing on you. Praying and fasting for the anointing without eating the word won’t cause the Rock to pour oil on you. It’s like having a good car without fuel to drive it.
Friends, do you desire to grow in the anointing? Listening to one hour sermon on Sunday is not enough. Go further to listen to the recorded message over and over. Attend Bible study meetings and conferences. Stay up the night or keep away from food for hours, not only to pray, but to do a personal Bible study. Get yourself soaked in the word of God and the Rock will pour oil on you.

Prayer points
1. Father, please, create a hunger for Your word in my heart in Jesus name.
2. Father, please, let the Rock pour anointing on me as I wash my steps with butter in Jesus name.

1. Praying and fasting without eating the word is like having a car without fuel to drive it.
2. As I increase in the wealth of God’s revelation, I also increase in the anointing.
