The anointing is the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in a believer. It is also used as another name for the Holy Spirit.
“But you have received the Holy Spirit, and He lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what He teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as He has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.” (I John‬ ‭2‬:‭27‬ NLT). The KJV uses the word ‘anointing’ instead of the ‘Holy Spirit’, which is used here.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and He is the mighty power of God. At creation, God, the Father, couldn’t do anything about the dark and disorderly earth until the Spirit first hovered over it (Gen 1:2; Psa 104:30). He was the power behind the Father’s command. Even Jesus, during His earthly ministry, couldn’t do anything without His empowerment (Luke 3:22; Acts 10:38). Also, after His disciples had been born again, Jesus told them to wait in Jerusalem to be endued with the power of the Spirit before going to witness about His resurrection (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8). God is mighty but His mightiness is demonstrated by the move of the Holy Spirit over a situation. The angel responded to Mary when she wondered how a virgin woman could ever conceive a child, that the answer is in the Holy Spirit ‭‭(Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭35‬). Likewise, while the challenges of completing the old temple stood like an unmovable mountain before Zerubbabel, the Lord spoke of the Spirit as the answer. Not by military might or force or by his own strength but by the power of the Spirit (Zech 4:6).
Friends, it is not good for your head to lack anointing. God wants to anoint you afresh. The anointing is the secret of a life of wonders. Yokes are destroyed, mountains are leveled and demons are cast out by the anointing.

Prayer points
1. Father, please, anoint me afresh with the Holy Spirit and power to do exploits for You in Jesus name.
2. Father, please, let not my head ever lack the oil of Your Spirit in Jesus name.

Today’s declarations
1. I wait on God daily for fresh anointing because the anointing of yesterday can’t sustain me for today.
2. By the anointing, I destroy every yoke and I bring the devil to its knees within my domain.
