Text: Hebrews 3:1-6
Memory verse:
”Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,“
Hebrews 3:1 NKJV
If the word of faith seems not to be working for you, don’t blame God but look inward to see if you are following His principles. God is always right; we are the ones that often go wrong. “Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true, but every man a liar….” (Rom 3:4). Someone can struggle without success for hours trying to open a door because he doesn’t have the right key, but a person with the right key comes in, and at once, he opens the door. So it is with our relationship with God. If we follow His principles, the door will open to us easily.
God has given us the key to open any door, and the door won’t open for you until you use that key. Activity, zeal, and good intentions will not substitute for using the right key of faith. Our memory text today tells us the primary key, which is to consider Jesus. That is, focus your mind and attention on Him and what He accomplished for you. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Think of how He took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses; think of how He became poor that you may be rich; think of how He redeemed you from curses and brought you into the fullness of Abraham’s blessings and so forth (Matt 8:17; 2 Cor. 8:9; Gal 3:13 – 14).
This is what the scripture says we should also do anytime when we come to the communion table in order to receive the benefits of the meal. ”and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.“ (I Cor 11:24). That is, keep your thoughts on the sacrifice of Jesus and how His body was broken for your healing. Taking the communion religiously without understanding this will not attract any blessing and is regarded as taking it unworthily.
If your faith is also focused on man, then you are not using the right key. It doesn’t matter how impressive a person’s testimony of healing or financial breakthrough is. You can be challenged by it, but don’t focus your mind and attention on the person. Friends, know what to consider or what not to consider. For you to operate the Bible faith, that is, the faith that opens any door, keep considering Jesus. Hallelujah!
Prayer points
1. Father, I receive Your grace to keep focusing my mind and attention on Jesus, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, I receive grace to build my faith in what Jesus has done for me, in Jesus’ name.
Today’s declarations
1. I don’t experience faith failure because my faith is built on what Jesus has accomplished for me.
2. I don’t make any human my focus, no matter how impressive his or her testimony is, but Jesus.
