Text: 1 Samuel 17:45-50
Memory verse:
”So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.“
I Samuel 17:50 NKJV
The Bible faith principle of “believing and speaking” is not the same as the positive thinking slogan of “name it and claim it”. “Believing and receiving” is an expression of the faith in your heart through your mouth.
Through this principle, God wants us to overflow with His goodness. ”For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.“
(Rom 10:10). The word salvation used here is the Greek word, ‘Soteria’, which means deliverance, preservation, welfare, soundness, restoration, prosperity, safety, and healing. Thus, salvation is a comprehensive blessing.
”But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):“ (Rom 10:8).
Did you get it? The word of faith is in your heart and in your mouth. It means for your faith not to suffer failure, it must not only be in your heart but in your mouth. This is where a lot of believers goof. Out of timidity or ignorance, they shut their mouths when they are supposed to speak up and are silent when they are supposed to be loud. Some justify their ignorance with the slogan, which says that “Belief is in the heart” and so they don’t need to speak out. What a half truth! If David had done that when Goliath cursed him with the name of his god, he would have died like a chicken before the Philistines’ giant and warrior! Hear his quick response of faith in 1 Samuel 17:46. According to our memory text, David didn’t conquer Goliath, the enemy, and the impossibility before Israel with any sword in his hand but with the sword from his mouth! Hallelujah! Faith in your heart will produce a sword from your mouth. Notice that David had earlier revealed the faith in his heart even before the battle began (1 Sam 17:34-37). The sword from the mouth is the most important weapon of giant slayers! (Eph 6:17).
Friends, have you been wondering why your faith has not been producing desired results? You probably have missed this principle. As you begin to speak out the faith in your heart, you will experience great deliverance without a sword, preservation in danger, mysterious provision in hard times, prosperity in economic recession, soundness of your body and health and all that salvation entails. You will see God’s glory! Amen.

2. Father, I break away from timidity and deception, and I refuse to keep silent when I should speak out in Jesus’ name.
Today’s declarations
