THE BLOOD OF JESUS 2

THE BLOOD OF JESUS 2

Text: Zechariah 9:11-12
Memory verse:
ā€ā€œAs for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.ā€œ

In my early years, Easter season was a special time in my family. We began it with the lenten season, that is, the forty days of fast. And during the Holy Week, that is, the week before Easter Sunday, we recited the seven last words of Jesus on the cross. We didnā€™t eat anything with blood on Friday because the blood of Jesus was shed on that day. We practiced it religiously but couldnā€™t connect our lives to it.
There were two aspects of the Passover: the killing of the animals and the application of the blood on their houses. The blood would have been of no effect if the animals were killed, but the blood was not applied on their houses. Likewise, it is not enough to know the meaning of Easter, and to empathize with the suffering of Jesus, you must also apply the blood of Jesus by faith into your life and situations.
Letā€™s consider one of the benefits of the blood of Jesus that we often overlook. It is the power of the blood to deliver from any bondage and every hopeless situation. According to our memory text, God promised to bring out those in the waterless pit or dungeon through the blood of the covenant. The waterless pits were deep, dried up cisterns, empty wells, from which it was impossible to escape without help from outside. There are two men who were put in it in scripture: Joseph, put there by his jealous brothers (Gen 37:23-24) and Jeremiah, imprisoned by the people of Jerusalem (Jer 38v6).
It was also by the blood of the everlasting covenant that God brought out the Lord Jesus from the dead (Heb 13:20).
No matter how deep the pit may be, the blood has the power to pull you out. Be it the pit of oppression, hatred, death, debt, sickness and disease, poverty, or fear, when you constantly plead the blood of Jesus over it, you will be lifted out of it. The power of darkness holding you down in that pit canā€™t stand the overwhelming power of the blood of the covenant. The children of Israel were in the hopeless pit of Pharaoh in Egypt for about 430 years. Previous attempts to be freed from that captivity couldnā€™t be sustained until the blood was applied.
Friends, are you worried about how you will get out of your helpless and hopeless situation? You have the answer in the blood. Plead it today.

Prayer points
1. I plead the blood of Jesus over the power of stagnancy and evil reoccurrence in my life, in Jesusā€™ name.
2. I plead the blood of Jesus over every power resisting my deliverance and breakthrough, in Jesusā€™ name.

Todayā€™s declarations
1. The blood of Jesus is my ladder out of every hopeless and helpless situation.
2. My captors canā€™t stand when I plead the blood of JesusĀ againstĀ them.
