THE SHINING STARS 4

THE SHINING STARS 4
Text: Joshua 1:1-9
Memory verse:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Knowledge is the trademark of every star. It is knowing what others don’t know that gives you an edge in your field. Whatever field of endeavour, you can never see a high flier who is not committed to qualitative investment in knowledge acquisition. In fact, it is a factor that separates stars from average people or failures.
“… the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” ‭‭(Daniel‬ ‭11‬:‭32‬).‬‬
It is not enough to know where you are heading for but you must have the know-how to get there. It is not enough to have talents but you must know how to turn the talents to desirable products or services.
No one can ever attain stardom with common sense. Common sense, as it is described, will make you a common man; an ordinary man. Stars are not common men. They are history shapers, pacesetters, trailblazers, giants, movers and authorities. They pay, not pray, to get the knowledge that others don’t have. The great apostle Paul, despite his intimacy with God, continued to stretch to gain more knowledge, even in the prison (2 Cor 4:13). Knowledge is acquired and not imparted. Until you are committed to learning, your star is not prepared to rise, lest it even shine. The womb of knowledge is where great giants are birthed.
The first and most superior source of knowledge is the word of God. It is the breath and life of the Creator in print. It is the light that gives insight. It is the manual for the acquisition of knowledge and wisdom. “For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;” ‭‭(Prov‬ ‭2‬:‭6). It makes you wiser than your age and to have greater insights than your teachers ( Psa 119: 99-100).
The word of God is the Creator’s manual for a successful and an enviable life (Josh 1:8). It is a higher knowledge and your ladder to the top (Isa 55:8-10). Job, who was the greatest man in Eastern Israel in his days, acknowledged that the secret of God was with him (Job 1:3; 29:4). The word of God is capable of bringing you out of obscurity into limelight. This is the ‘one thing’ that Mary chose which shall not be taken away from her.
Friends, your ultimate height in life is a factor of your depth of God’s knowledge and your readiness to practice what you know. It is the one thing that puts you in charge of everything and gives you an edge in life. How are you committed to acquiring this superior source of knowledge?
Prayer points
1. Father, please, create a hunger for Your word in my heart in Jesus name.
2. Father, please, help me to invest in acquiring Your knowledge and to esteem it above all other in Jesus name.
Today’s declarations
1. I gain superior knowledge and wisdom to standout in life through the word of God.
2. As long as I am committed to learning and practicing, my star will rise and shine.
