Text: John 3:14-18

”Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”“

What is salvation? It is to be forgiven and saved from the wrath of God to come. God’s judgment or anger is hanging on the head of every sinner. Hell is the place of God’s judgment. It’s a place of unquenchable fire and everlasting torment. It is the eternal home of sinners who die without the Saviour. It was created for satan and his rebellious angels but unsaved people will also be cast there. ”“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:“ ‭‭(Matt‬ ‭25‬:‭41‬).
Now, do you see that you need to be saved? The only person who can be exempted is one without sin. Does that exist? Let’s even assume that since you were born, you have never for once sinned, you are still a sinner. You were conceived in sin. You didn’t acquire sin but inherited sin. Sin is in your DNA! You are a sinner by nature! ”Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.“ ‭‭(Psa‬ ‭51‬:‭5‬).
How did you become a sinner? We were all in the loins of the first man, Adam, when he sinned. We became sinners because we descended from Adam. Thus, eternal death in hell which is God’s judgment for sin became the portion of every man. “When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.“ ‭‭(Rom‬ ‭5‬:‭12‬).
Do you now see why everyone needs a saviour? Unfortunately, many who have realized their need for a saviour have gone to unaccredited, unauthorized, unqualified and self- proclaimed saviours. God has provided a Saviour only in one Man, Jesus Christ and none outside Him. “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”“ ‭‭(Matt‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬).
So salvation is to be saved from the coming judgment through Jesus Christ. It is to have Jesus as your Saviour. No rock or place can keep you safe when the anger of God blows hot on sinners except in Jesus, the Rock of Ages.
Friends, are you hiding there already? If yes, urgently share this escape route with someone. If not, please run into the Rock of Ages now and while time lasts. It is too risky to delay or postpone.

Prayer points
1. If you haven’t been saved, pray, “Father, I confess that I am a sinner and I repent of my sin. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus name.”
2. If you have been saved, pray for the salvation of your loved ones and others now.
